What a way to make it to the quarters. I suppose if you can't win a walkover is the next best thing. I had my money on Bartoli and if she was healthy there was no way Myskina was moving on!!!!! :fiery: :woohoo: :explode:

The way Myskina has been playing so far this year, I think she needs a bit of luck

We'll find out soon if it's good Nastya or bad Nastya who showed up for this tournament.

actually this may not be bad luck, there is nothing tougher than coming against a player who has already played 2 ough matches. remember at the aO, got the walkover, comes into the 4th rd under prepared and a littel short on match play and see what happened, she couldn't get her rhythm right. she is the kind of player that needs alot of rhythmn.

Bartoli has a pattern of retiring from matches once she gets far in a tourni. If there's any luck, then it's from Bartoli's pattern. I think Myskina plays Schynder next.

It is lucky - but Anastasia needed the experience of playing a full match to get use to the conditions in Dubai

Nastya is bipolar as hell. If she's on, she's on. If she's off, no amount of "getting used to conditions" is going to help her. Which is part of what makes her so interesting to follow.

Well.....she is so unpredictable and most of the time she surprises us........Do not worry as the year goes on she will be ON
Just a matter of time before she come back to her normal self ;)

:woohoo: :woohoo: Her inconsistency will speak for itself as the year goes on and she drops further and further in the rankings :woohoo: :woohoo:

I wanted Nastya to get a full match in before her QF - Nevermind, she will be well rested vs Patty. Poor Bartoli - Nastya is very caring about the retirement.

Good luck!

It has not been a good start to 2005 for Anastasia.
But I keep betting on her :bounce:

Have you seen Lindsay play today - a complete meltdown midway - or Serena - a set in bed?
