Hi people, here are some ETA NEWS

*Draws for Goldcoast/Auckland will be up morrow after the Sanex/Volvo semifinal results are posted

*You can find the ETA thread in the Goldcoast thread. The Auckland tournament will also be in the Goldcoast thread!

*I have decided against using new special surface points for the time being. Even before we used them, I could tell there would be a problem with them. I will continue to think of other ways to make the game more realistic.

*The following players have earned WILDCARDS into Goldcoast:
Daniela Hantuchova (Aussie WC)
Patty Schnyder (Former Champion WC)
Pam Shriver (Improving Player WC)

The fourth WC will go to the winner of the Volvo Women's Open.

*QUALITY POINTS will begin with the new season!

These are how WILDCARDS are decided usually:

1st WC Defending Champion/Previous Champion
2nd WC Country
3rd WC Lower Tier Event Champion
4th WC Improving Player

In the case for Adidas, there are two WCs for Lower Tier Events, and the other one is the Aussie WC. So I had to decide between giving the 4th WC to a defending champion or an improving player.

Sabatini, Zvereva, Davenport, if awarded the WC, would be playing in the event without their doubles partners. Shriver has earned a fair share of WCs so far, so she might be relegated to the lower tier event. I won't decide who the 4th WC goes to until next week.

Cris has a chance to earn a WC at the Tokyo Pan Pacific, the Asian WC. Right now there is only one Asian WC. You and Su-Wei Hsieh are competing for that WC, but I think I'll offer two Asian WCs, meaning that both of you would get in!
