From the Eurosport tennis message board:

27/02/2005 - Albert - Tenerife http://www.eurosport.fr/zones/v4/img/shim.gif When is Monica Seles coming back?

http://www.eurosport.fr/zones/v4/img/star_live.gif27/02/2005 - Eurosport - James Buddell http://www.eurosport.fr/zones/v4/img/shim.gif Monica Seles hasn't played since Roland Garros 2003. Earlier this month she played an exhibition match against Martina Navratilova in Auckland and plans to return to the tour in Strasbourg on 16 May - just prior to the French Open.

wait... did this just come from another message board? is there any source?

it would be great if it's true and if it happens. i'd love to see monica back, and i think a tier 3 would be a great place to start, especially because it's on such a friendly surface and then grass is also good on the body. plus, there's really very little pressure on monica to do extremely well on the grass.

here's to hoping!

Me too tom2791 :yeah: I was hoping she would come back during the US clay events, but I will be happy with her coming back in general - Strasbourg sounds good to me ;)

As recently as 3 weeks ago, she said after the exos she would want another month of practice before returning to the tour in April (ie likely the US green clay events). Once she returns, she will give herself six months to get her form back and at the end of that time will make a decision as to whether or not she will have a "farewell year" in 2006 or retire on the spot.

She did say that she was going to play Strasbourg last year and I highly doubt that's where she would make her comeback now. There's no way she would only play one warm-up leading into the FO considering she hasn't played a match in two years. Monica is much more sensible than that.
