Experts have warned WTA officials that the health of several players is in danger after recent findings that many top level players have been taking drastic measures to reduce body weight. An in depth report has uncovered the use of several common chemical materials- including titanium, carbon and synthetic materials- being used as appetite suppressants. An insider reports, "These materials are widely available on the tour. Everybody is using them. But nobody says anything."

In recent years, the women's tennis tour has taken on a more powerful and athletic road. This revolution has been led by recent Australian Open Grand Slam winner, Serena Williams, players are pushing themselves to achieve what sports physiologists call, the optimum body fat to muscle ratio. In standard terms, the less body fat on the athlete, the faster and more powerful they can be.

"To be the best athlete you can be, you have got to watch what you eat," reports one tennis trainer. But with the intense pressure to succeed that follows these athletes, we must question, is licking ya strings and eating ya bloody racquet really gonna help?!?
