Jennifer has been out for a long time and won't come back any time soon. I don't see her playing for many years to come. Venus doesn't go much further than living up to her seeding nowadays... When they are both entered in the same event, they are most likely to be seeded between 5 and 8, which means they won't face off until the last 4 and both of them are likely to beat one of the top 4 seeds respectively to get there. Time is passing them by and the chance of their facing one another is getting slmier and slimer.. I just hope they will play one last match against each other before either of them retires... can't even remember when their last match up took place... 2001? It's been way too long for such accomplished American players...

Well I have wondered the same thing, although mine stems from the fact that whenever Jennifer does play a Williams, it's always Serena and never Venus.

Yes, but I hope they still get to play each other again :o

The last time was 2001 USO semis  Venus owns Jen 4-0

Goodtimes

It's also possible that Ivanovic and Vaidisova will never play each other.

How possible is it? Of course anything is possible. It's possible that Demented will never hit a DF again.

That 2001 USO staredown was the ultimate.

US Open 2001 was brilliant. From 4-1 down in that first set, Venus just began to dominate. 6-4 6-2 :bounce:

I remember one point, it was a long rally, and they were both hitting backhands to each other and then eventually Venus ripped on down the line. Classic Venus!

It's funny how Jen and Serena have played 17 times since 2000, but Venus only 4. You guys can't tell me these draws aren't rigged. They know Jen is one of FEW threats for Serena.

I would like to be alive to see Halley's Comet return, and also to see Jen and Venus play each other again. I'm not sure which event will happen first... ;)

Well I came across this thread while searching and now that Capriati is pre much retired, their match will not ever happen again.

I'd like to see the match happen. But it will most likely be an exhibition or something along those lines.

Five or six years down the road when Venus is retired yes it might happen as an exhibition. But nothing else.

I don't want Venus to play Jennifer again. It would mean a chance to tarnish her 4/0 record over her! I love it! I love the record that Venus and Serena have over Anna K also! Beautiful! Don't chance giving up that 0 in the head 2 head! :)
