IMO, I think it will be Venus and Serena if both of them actually show up for this tournament as they are scheduled to. If not, it will probably be two top players who are good friends and get along well. Probably something along the lines of Davenport/Serena, or Davenport/Molik.

It definitely won't be Martinez and Schnyder though, seeing as Patty would probably try and push Conchita off the helipad:tape:

The pictures are unreal! ESPN had them of Roger and Andre. I can't seem to find the close up but here is one:

http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/news/story?id=1997537

The 4,467-square-foot court sits near the top of the 1,053 foot tower that was built on a man-made island in the Arab Gulf.

From ATPtennis.com:
Dubai, UAE: World No. 1 Roger Federer and former No. 1 Andre Agassi took tennis to new heights on Tuesday, ascending nearly 700 feet (over 320 meters) to play a friendly match on the helipad at the luxurious Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.

“This was an absolutely amazing experience,” Agassi said. “When you first get over how high you are and start playing it's an absolute joy and it was a great time. I had no issues with the height as long as I didn't have to bungee jump off the side.”

The hotel's grass helipad, which is situated 692 feet (211 meters) high covers a surface area of 1,361 square feet (415 sq meters), was converted into a tennis court for the two players. Standing 1,053 feet (321 meters) high on a man-made island, the majestic Burj Al Arab is one of the most recognizable hotels in the world.

“The view is absolutely amazing here and it was very different when I was asked to do this as I didn't know what to expect,” Federer said. “I have been in Dubai many times and have stayed at Burj Al Arab before, but this was an absolute treat. To play tennis with Andre on top of such an amazing hotel and overlooking the whole of Dubai was absolutely spectacular.”

Both players are in town for the ATP's Dubai Duty Free Men's Open, a USD $1 million International Series Gold event. Federer is the reigning champion of the Dubai Duty Free Men's Open and is making his third appearance in the tournament while Agassi is playing an ATP tournament in the Middle East for the first time.

I doubt anyone will be asked.
they've already publicised and done this and repeating it would just be :o

I'd love to see Nastya out there...but not gonna happen. Sharapova and Serena would kill for a photosession up there :)
Masha "I'm the Queen of the world !!! "
Serena *I hope she doesn't know how to swim*

If Justine was there, she would probably take a sky dive;)

What else could they do with the players? I guess when the underwater-city exists, they will let them play a match there...or having all the players pass the ball from one "Palm"-Island to another, lol..."We love Dubai!!!"

What happens if you hit a winner? Does the ball just fall off and hit some passer-by's head?

Also how can you not run out of balls after a few games?!!??!?

Myskina!!!!!!!!!!!! But she will have to wear heavy shoes, so she is not flying away from the helipad :) And Smashnova, had she played...she always hits the ball two meters behind the baseline hahahaha. Just kidding, but Nastya would be great, cause she had a bad time in Doha.

I would choose Davenport and Serena and then would make some money accepting bets on whether the helipad is going to crash under their weight..

Better yet Venus, she is a slow heavyweight after all, the kind Myskina eats for breakfast.

Myskina would be of no use here, she is too light. But getting Venus as a ballgirl there for better odds of crashing is a nice idea..

if Maria ever plays on that coach, she'll get fined for Yuri hovering overhead shouting instructions.

Maybe they can just put a rope around her waist...just in case...she would probably fly above the court and complain about the heavy balls and wind up there

Anyway, Ive seen it on Eurosport with Andre and Roger, it looks AMAZING! At first I thought they were feet from the edge, then realised the ring surrounding the thing has some meshy type stuff on it. But I'd be shitting myself up there

The way the Dubai womens event has been promoted, you would say that the Williams Sister would be the ones, if they even do it for the womens.

That would be scary, and seriously dangerous! :scared: From the pics it's pretty evident that this court is great for an advertising campaign, but it has so little 'out' that it could never be used for a realistic hitting session, let alone an official match. With Conchita and Patty both going very often for loads of top spin on their groundstrokes, you'd have both of them oh so close to the edge in a matter of minutes...

well patty would have a huge advantage because here she could just throw conchita's lucky balls over the side instead of having to hide them in her skirt ;)
