Eva is currently playing the Copa Colsanitas Cup in Bogota, where she plays in the QF ag. Lourdes Dominguez Lino from Spain.....

On her way to the QF Eva beat the no 4 seed María Antonia Sánchez Lorenzo from Spain in the 2nd round and in the 1th round Eva beat Maria Emilia Salerni from Argentina

Eva's current position is the 158 position, I have hope that Eva has the will to crack the top 100 this year......, if she continues to win in Bogota the top 100 will come near

Eva's next tournament is Acapulco where she has to play in the qualifying

GO Eva, Beat Lourdes and reach the SF in Bogota, hopefully you'll beat Zuluaga afterwards

JDEM Eva!!!!!! :bounce: :bounce:

Eva lost in the qualies of Acapulco..

Now Eva is in the MD of Indian Wells were she defeated Tamarine Tanasugarn with 6-4 and 6-2 in the 1th round, Eva will play ag. Svetlana Kuznetsova in the next round....

Eva qualified for the MD by beating Delia Sescioreanu in the 1th round of the qualies with 6-4 6-7 and 6-2 and beating Julia Schruff in the 2nd round of the qualies with 6-2 and 6-1...
Great tournament so far for Eva, let's hope Eva can hold the good form up.... :)

Eva lost to Sveta Kuznetsova with 2-6 and 3-6, so IW is already over for Eva  but she played a great tourney, by coming thru the qualies and winning in the first round from Tammy Tanasugarn, i think Eva's ranking will go up, hopefully she'll reach the to 130 and the top 120 soon enough and crack the top 100 by the end of the year.

Not sure if Miami is the next tourney for Eva, i am not really sure which tourneys Eva is going to play....

daniela86
Mar 13th, 2005, 12:30 PM
Indeed it's a great tourney for Eva:) and playing against a top player is always good for experience:) :) Jedem Evka for your next tourney
Since everybody love playing at Miami, it's nearly a grand slam, i think eva will also play there but i am not sure either:)

Exactly :yeah: Eva defeated Knapp 6-3, 7-6(6) in the second round so she has to win 3 more matchs to take this title !!
Btw, since I saw her match against Vee at Wimbledon, I like her even more and i agree 100% with cory, Eve is so cool :D She seems to be very friendly  :rocker: :rocker: SO I WANT HER TO BE IN THE TOP 100 BEFORE THE US OPEN, she was the number 1 in juniors, it's time she rises in pro too :bounce: :bounce: Jedem!!

Absolutely Eve has to reach the top 100, before the USO, hope she can win those 3 matches and win the title!

C'mon Eve just take the title!!!!! :bounce:

Pity i only saw handshaking of Eva's match at wimby only but i am definitely more fan of her since this year, am fan of Eva since last year, doublesmatch with Ivi on USO ag. Navratilova, did make me a much bigger fan then i was back then :yeah:
She seems to be very nice indeed :D i really want her inside the top 100 this season, and i am damn sure she can! ;)

Eva is playing Budapest this week, she won in the first round ag. Antonella Serra Zanetti, with 6-4 and 6-1 :yeah: and she'll play ag. Maria Sanchez-Lorenzo or Agnes Szavay in the 2nd round..

Eva plays with Andreea Vanc as well in double, they'll play a qualifying team first, possible 2nd round opponents are Navratilova/Pastikova who are seeded 2nd or Hradecka/Uhlirova

Let's go Eva hope you can go real far here!! :bounce:

Mathijs
Jul 28th, 2005, 08:40 PM
Eva lost in the 2nd round of Budapest ag. Maria Sanchez Lorenzo with 6-2 4-6 6-2 :(

Hope Eva can reach the final now :)

Mathijs

Eva's ranked 111th this week, that means a direct entry into the USO which starts next week...

Eva has a very tough draw by drawing the no.9 seed Nadia Petrova in the first round, if Eva might win it (i highly doubt it, but i hope she can make the upset) a 2nd round matchup with Marissa Irvin or Aiko Nakamura possibly awaits...

Mathijs
Aug 29th, 2005, 08:01 PM
Well Eva lost in the 1th round to Nadia Petrova with 4-6 and 4-6  oh well i hope that Eva will play in doubles and she'll have a better tourney as in singles :)

Mathijs
Sep 1st, 2005, 04:03 PM
Eva played her 1th round in the doubles yesterday with Andreea Vanc, they won their first round ag. Dominguez-Lino and Llagostera-Vives with 2-6 6-3 6-4...

Their opponents in the 2nd round will be the no.2 seeds Kuznetsova/Molik

Well go get them Eva, i hope you can cause a major upset here :)

Bump sorry for not updating so long

but Eva played qualies in Filderstadt this week, unfortunately Eva lost in the very first round with a bad score 1-6 and 1-6 to Sabine Klaschka, i read somewhere that it seemed to be that Eva was a little bit injured :( Hope you will be well soon Eva, you are being very missed by your fans

Oh, I just discovered this thread :o
Eva Birnerova is one of my fave players; even more when I watched her against Venus at Wimbledon
she plays qualies this week at the Kremlin Cup (I)

Q1 Eva Birnerova d. Ekaterina Bychkova 6-4 6-1
Q2 Eva Birnerova d. (3)Katarina Srebotnik 6-3 6-2
Q3 Eva Birnerova vs (6)Iveta Benesova

she plays doubles with Andreea Vanc :)

1 Eva Birnerova/Andreea Vanc vs Tina Krizan/Jennifer Russell

I think Eva can beat Iveta to qualify for the main draw
good luck, Eva :D

Mathijs
Oct 9th, 2005, 08:15 PM
Oh good to see you here Rrfn, i've been Eva fan since last years USO when she played dubz with Iveta, followed her before, but not really a fan but now i am and i hope Eva enters the top 100 soon :D

All the best of luck tomorrow Eva, will be difficult match (also for me, but sorry i only root this time against you, after that no more ;))

Good luck tomorrow and as well in the doubles!, hope you can do some great things with Andreea there...

Eva is in the qualies of Zürich and plays a very difficult first round match ag. Ai Sugiyama, the no.2 seed, not a great draw, but i can see Eva upsetting Ai, if she can win a 2nd round match with Lucie Safarova  or Tatiana Panova will be a possibility.

Good Luck Eva, go out there, and upset Ai!! :bounce:

So from today this thread is as well backup again, sorry for not keeping it up to date, was too busy, but from now i'll keep Eva's thread alive :yeah:

Eva takes on Sybille Bammer in the 1th round of the AO, Bammer is a tough player to play against, but it should be winnable for Eva...

Eva's got a possible 2nd round match with Nathalie Dechy who's seeded 11th or Zi Yan

C'mon Eva lets do some damage here.... :bounce: Good Luck :yeah:

You're absolutely right Adam, have you seen the pics, some really nice pics of Eva :hearts:
When i was there a while ago, i didn't have any pics but i am glad it has now, really enjoy reading Eva's official site, i am happy it's there...., i am a fan of Eva since 2004, and made this thread but i just lack the time to frequently update the thread, from now i am gonna try if i am able to to keep this thread updated a lil bit, and if you want and can when i am not able to keep this thread alive and kicking, posts results or whatever you my find...

I also saw a possibility to mail Eva on her official website, so i am gonna do that the following days, i really hope i got better chances to get sth back from Eva then i did with Iveta and Klara....

This is the first time one of my fave Czech players has her own official website, really hope that the others (Koukalova, Benesova and Peschke and some others as well) will follow soon ;)

New Entry on www.evabirnerova.com

Hello everyone,

After my first appearance at Eastbourne where I played a really good first round (6:1 7:5 vs Nakamura) I had some problems with my knee during my second match and made my way to Wimbledon earlier than expected.
Now we are getting ready for my first direct main draw start in singles and doubles - actually we (Yulia Beygelzimer and me) were very lucky with the doubles because we were one position out of main draw until yesterday :o] In singles I will play the 28th seed, Sofia Arvidsson and in doubles the 9th seeded Kveta Peschke and Francesca Schiavone. For the first time I will also try to enter the mixed doubles with Lukas Dlouhy on Wednesday. So fingers crossed for me...

So I hope you will follow my matches on

Another great entry, she speaks every nice english with a nice word choice :)Thanks for pointing this out, a nice entry! I got to see Eva's singles matches at Wim this year, and thought she played very well. She was a bit unlucky against Zheng, especially as she had set points in the first set tie break, the second one of which Zheng saved with a lucky shot that hit the net and just dropped over the other side. Also, instead of apologising for this, Zheng celebrated with a clenched fist, which you could see annoyed Eva! Anyway, here's a few pics I took...

Hi Everybody,

after a nice time at Wimbledon I'm now in Cologne where we mostly stop in between tournaments because Tim lives there and its easier to travel from Germany.. We decided to take some time to prepare for the next tournaments. Honestly its good not to travel for some days but its really exhausting because I had one day off and had to work hard :o (But I know it will help to improve again and I can't wait to step on court for my next match.

Finally I ended my 2006 season with quite comfortable rankings and look forward to have a good start in 2007. For this reason we'll already leave on 13th Dec to go to Auckland and have a perfect preparation. Three weeks of intensive work should get me ready. And if you all cross fingers for me to have good draws.. :o)

I wish you all a great christmas time and a happy new year 2007.

Take care

Evi

Hey everyone

Just back from down under I wanted to renew my little reports to keep you informed whwtas going on. After a good preparation in Auckland I was reaklly down seeing myself lose first rounds in Auckland and Hobart in doubles and sincles. Not really confident but still knowing that I'm on the right track we made our way to Melbourne. And it should become my best Grand Slam result so far - winning to Sucha in 1st and Schruff in 2nd round, just stopped by some lady called Mauresmo :o) :awww: With a new career ranking in the top 60 and not so many points to defend in the first half of the year I'm looking forward to the next tournaments.

All the best

Evi

Poor Eva, I hope that a bit of a break will give her some time to get her confidence and motivation back - She's had a rough year, so I think taking a little bit of time to relax and re-focus will be a good thing.

Saw her in Toronto last month and you could really see that she was just not feeling confident with her game right now. Got beat quickly by Olaru in qualies, made a lot of unforced errors. In doubles she showed more flashes of her potential, but in the key points she wasn't able to produce enough, and she just looked pretty frustrated by that. Real sweet girl though, the crowd definitely warmed up to her that day :)

Hi, here is Evas newest update on her website. It will take some days to have it online... But when I saw that you reacted so fast to her first tournament 2008, I thought I should update you first :) She is doing much better and is in quite good physical shape. But of course it will need some matches for her to get used to compete again...
She is in Petange, Luxemburg now and told me to say Hi to everybody and say thanks for the support.

Greets, Tim

Hello Everybody,

I am really sorry that it took me so long to update my website. After a good start in 2007 I started to have problems with my wrist and finally had to stop playing after the US Open. It took me quite a long time to find the right treatment and I had to take a break for almost 9 month. Step by step it?s getting better and I am happy to be able to compete again. Obviously my ranking dropped a lot and I will have to start on smaller tournaments to fight my way back... But I am ready to take this challenge.

I want to thank everybody who supported me in this tough period. I also found this forum on the internet . (http://www.tennisforum.com/showthread.php?t=152665&page=14) To see that there are people caring about me and still believe in me made me really happy. Thanks for that.

Take care

Indeed it's great to see Eva back. :)

After playing some Bundesliga matches early in the summer she competed in three challengers over the last few weeks. And though she "only" wraped up three wins in these challengers she seems to be definitely back (and hopefully healthy). She also lost against compatriot Ondraskova in the US Open qualifying but look at the lady in my ava. It has taken her nearly 18 months to be really back to where she belongs but she did it and so will Eva.

Time to update this thread and to keep it alive ;)

Nice to see a new fan, welcome Jochebel!

Well from what i've read on her website www.evabirnerova.com, eva had a wrist-injury last year and my guess is that she's now playing the smaller tournaments (the 75.000- 100.000 k tourneys) in order to get where she left off before her injury...

Yesterday i've send her an fanmail via the mailadress on her official website, :) it might be a nice idea if other fans would write some fanmail as well, i am sure that she would like that :)
