Hana's Comments after her loss to Cho in Midland last week

"I had my chances but (Cho) made the good shots in the tie-breaker," Sromova said. "I was real nervous early and I made too many errors. It was a fight for every point in the end."
The unseeded Sromova fell behind 3-0 in the second set after having her serve broken once. She broke Cho's serve and narrowed the gap to 3-2 but Cho broke Sromova's serve again and held on for the win.
Sromova continues to improve as she reached the semifinals two tournaments ago, was a finalist in her last tournament and finishes as a semifinalist in Midland. She's travels today for a tournament in Memphis, Tenn.
"Every match is different at this stage," Sromova said. "I'm having the best results of my career. I'm happy right now."

Hana won the $75K doubles title in Dubai with Gabby Navratilova!! Her biggest title in singles or doubles in her career :D

Keep it up Hana! :worship:

(Hana was forced to retire in her 1R match against Henya Nagyova at 64 55).

Hayato
Jan 18th, 2006, 10:39 AM
After that match with Nagyova, Hana won her first Grand Slam Singles Match! 3-0 ret. over Morigami ;)

Hana had the biggest day of her tennis career today, she faced Justine Henin-Hardenne infront of 15,000 people and did very well! She lost 7-6 6-1 but was playing very well until she rolled her anke at 1-1 in the second. Hana didnt retire though, and completed her first Grand Slam main draw match. Well done!!

Hana is playing with Emma Laine in the doubles. :D

Hana lost to Maria Jose Martinez in Acapulco 6-1 6-1 last week :sobbing:

But it's okay, at least she is back from her ankle injury since the Aussie Open! It was her first match since and also her first match on clay since September last year.

Tomorrow Hana faces Emma Laine in Indian Wells First Round...her doubles partner in the AO! Come on Hana!!

Hana lost to Emma 75 75, a very good fight. I dont really rate Hana as a player, but she has done so well to get to the top 100:worship:.

Hana likes to stick to ITF's...she's listed in a few ITF's in the up and coming weeks.

Good fight from Hana against Laine, she had an opportunity to serve out the second set but unfortunately was broken then lost a few more deuces.

Why does Hana only play in ITF's? At the end of last year her was on the entry list for a 10k. But withdrew...I saw her against Justine at the AO, she was cool...if only she had a little bit more power she prob would have beaten JHH. She was very cool and calm on such a big stage. It was really sad when rolled her anke. JHH did not even care tho...bitch! Good luck for the season Hana!

Because she feels more comfortable there, I guess. Yeah me too! I was very proud of her effort. :D

She lost 1R $50K Orange to #7 seed Eva Birnerova 61 64 yesterday, but won the 1R doubles with Katerina Bohmova 62 60!

Hana has some other fans but I guess the fact Hana barely plays Tier tournaments doesn't help her gain too many fans.

Did you know Hana retired from tennis to become a coach but returned and started winning ITF's? :hearts: :yeah: And she loves the game a lot.

3) One of my banner girls from last year, Hana Sromova, had a tough time at this event. She qualified for the main draw in both singles and doubles. But had to retire only 4 games into her first round, main draw, singles match against Olga Savchuk (#102) with a hand injury. She was very upset about it. Didn't have enough time to get pictures of Hana during that match.

Hope the injury is not serious!

It was a good win over Osterloh for Hana :D

BALI

Hana reached her second WTAtour Quarterfinal, equalising the best result in her career. She beat Namigata 6-3 6-1 in the first round and then beat Nakamura 6-3 7-5 in the second round. However, she fell to Lindsay Davenport 6-1 6-0 yesterday. "I don't have too much experience playing against these top players, and today I was just too nervous to play my game," said Sromova, who was playing just her second Tour quarterfinal, her first coming earlier this year. "I was hitting so short; against someone like Lindsay, she's going to kill those balls."

 bad luck Hana but a good week!

Hana won yesterday 6-4 4-6 6-1 over Kelly Liggan in the first round of Wimbledon qualies! :D
It was just her 5th win out of 18 matches this year. So it probably would have meant a lot to her. Also it was her first win of her career on grass, so she has now won matches on all surfaces. :clap2:
Next she will play Iroda Tulyaganova, which could be difficult, but Hana should be confident. Keep going Hana! :yeah:
