You also named some great movies:
Scarface -- Great role of Al Pacino. His role as the Godfather was the best but Scarface is a close second.
Pitch Black -- The prequel of the Chronicles of Riddick (also good I think). But I like almost every Vin Diesel movie. He is a great actor for action movies.
Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain -- I love this movie too. Audrey Tautou is very charming. Last week I saw a English movie of her (Dirty Pretty Things). I liked it too but it wasn't great. I read she got the female main role in the movie "Da Vinci Code" (of the best selling book). Tom Hanks will also play in that movie.
the Gladiator -- The only movie I like so far of Russel Crowe

@katiektc
What's wrong with Terminator 1. I like Arnold as the bad guy. In the second movie he played a good guy. Great quote from the 1st movie: I'll be back
Totall Recall is with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone right? And from the Dutch director Paul Verhoeven, I believe. That is indeed a good movie

@Northa
Godzilla?? Do you really mean that? That is one of the worst movies I ever saw. What do you like about that movie?
Can you tell about the unbearable lightness of being and about Le Vita e Bella? I never heard of those movies. I am curious because I am a movie freak.
Your other movies are good choices although I was very disappointed in the third Lord of the Rings movie. A little hobbit who kills a great and powerful Nazgul with only a tiny sword. Pfffff.......

I just can't see Audrey as the smart, "double thought" Sophie Neveu
I love Dan (the writer of Da Vinci code and Angels and Demons), I read the bpth of his books, and IMO if Shopie Merceu was a litle bitte younger she will fit perfectly for the papper
Audrey is to "sensitive" and "lovely" for play Sophie
And Tom Hanks was a terrible choice too, for much that I admire his job as an actor, he just dont fit in that paper

IMO was a very simple thing, hollywood never make good adpitations of books (except for LORD OF THE RINGS) and, with book like DA VINCI CODE, the romance book of major sucess in this century, they are afraid and the solve call a name that for sure will bring a litle of "sure" for the money about that movie
Winners of Oscar has that power...

It's a shame, but it's hollywood

the Gladiator -- The only movie I like so far of Russel Crowel
I like Beautiful Mind
The best movie of Russel IMO
He played very well a so hard character like JONH NASH, and Jennifer Connely also was GREAT
I think that he deserve an OSCAR for that atuation, but, that was the "year of the balck" and Russel is far away to be black
The both winners of that night didnt deserve the oscar (Denzel and Halle)

But...it's HOLLYWOOD

3. Pixar movies: Nemo, Monster Inc, Toy Story I & II, The Incredibles, A Bug's life
4. You've got mails: I love the Christmas admosphere of NYC in that movie...
5. The Showshank Redemption: didn't get to see it at cenema but this movie is damn damn great :yeah:
6. Something's gotta give: almost the same reason as "As good as it gets"..:)

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy: The first one was outstanding, the second was even better, and the third.... was AMAZING!!!! It just blew the previous two out of the water
The Matrix It's a shame they ruined it with the two sequels....
Zoolander Funniest Movie ever.... Ben Stiller is gold

Yep.. also like the Pixar movies.... anything funny really....

By the way.... does anyone think the TX from Terminator 3 sucks compared to the T1000 from Terminator 2? I mean, come on.... she was destroyed by a big metal door... The T1000 could reform and turn into liquid.

Ruthless People; The Shawshank Redemption; Eraser; The Whole Nine Yards; White Chicks ( ); Tonari no Totoro; The Seven Samurais; Yojimbo; The Stepford Wives; South Park the movie; Muriel's Wedding; The Last Samurai; Kao; The Godfather II; Erin Brokovich; E.T.; Tokyo Monogatari; As Good as it Gets.

I am shallow when it comes to movies and music. As long as it's good (e.g. not boring) and doesn't wallow too deeply into abstract garbage and tries too hard to be "different", then I'm a fan :)

The first was good, the second was ok, the third was not bad - it's mine opinion about this film.
I love book and I can't forgive what they did with orcs (What the heel was it? - They should be green!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and more things which I don't know how to called in English :(

:yeah: Kristanna Loken as TX :yeah:
She is powerful in the movie. She has some cool moves.
I like all 3 movies. But maybe you are a little bit right, because the TX is a better version of the T1000. So you would expect a more powerful machine. But I like the movie anyway.

Well Godzilla is not really one of my fav. movies, but what i meant was that i like it as movie to watch on a nite.....

About LOTR 3, what you say bout Hobbit killing Nazgul, is not true, it wasn't Hobbit Meriadoc who killed the lord of the Nazgul, it was Eówyn ladfy of Rohan who killed the Nazgul and his master!!! do ya have read the 3 books also, or only watched the 3 films?? i have searched for it in the 3rd book, cuz i found it really strange bout what you said about LOTR: The Return Of The King

It suprises me a little bit that you never heard about La Vita È Bella (1997), it's an Italian Movie and spoken in Italian Produced by Roberto Benigni English version is Life is Beautiful), this movie has been alot of times on the Dutch channels, and has won 3 oscars...
Short Summary about La Vita È a Bella:

It's 1939. The ebullient, playful Guido (Roberto Benigni) comes to town. He works as a waiter under his uncle's eye, an elegant man who is also a Jew. Guido falls for Dora (Nicoletta Braschi), a schoolteacher, whom he calls "princess" and courts by popping up at unexpected times. She dumps her fiancé to choose Guido. The film jumps ahead to the last months of the war. Nora and Guido have a child, Giosué, and when Guido and the lad are shipped to a concentration camp, Dora voluntarily follows. Although the men and women in the camp are separated and a child is in mortal peril, Guido finds ways to communicate with Dora, to hide Giosué, and to convince him this is an elaborate game, a special contest to win a tank.

It's a very wonderful movie, that you have to see.....

The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988, English spoken) is the movie after the book of Milan Kundera "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" Short Summary of The Unbearable Lightness of Being:

Tomas (Daniel Day-Lewis) is a doctor and a lady-killer in 1960s Czechoslovakia, an apolitical man who is struck with love for the bookish country girl Tereza (Juliette Binoche); his more sophisticated sometime lover Sabina (Lena Olin) eventually accepts their relationship and the two women form an electric friendship. The three are caught up in the events of the Prague Spring (1968), until the Soviet tanks crush the non-violent rebels; their illusions are shattered and their lives change forever

Beautiful movie, although i still have to read the book..

Godzilla ROCKS! They're great fun, even if not great filmmaking.

Although this year I finally got to see the original Japanese version. It is a very different movie from the version that was released in the U.S.--lots of references to the war and the atomic bombs that gave it a darker edge. In addition, a lot of dialog was cut that provides important context for why the characters react the way they do.

I don't know which version played in Europe, Latin America and the rest of the world, but if the only version you've seen has Raymond Burr in it, then you haven't really seen Godzilla.
