How about the Myskina must be bloody tired thread after that long match thread - although I would like thesound of the other one at the end of next week.....

That is not a good thing before her R3 match tommorow - that is if Raymond can play

that was very silly and I'm not happy at all. That win almost sure will affect Nastya.:fiery:
Vera you are a silly girl. How can a top player have motivation to play doubles when she is out of singes?

But then she didn't loss before the doubles had started and was already deep in the doubles draw. And in Moscow she was home and next tourneys were indoors too. Now she is on the other side of the world and it's the last hardcourt tourney

I thought Aus Open was an advantage 3rd set, not a tiebreak? Has that changed?

Both the AO doubles matches followed the format of the Fed Cup final doublesmatch - very close with vital breakbacks to stay in it and a win at the last minute. Can't decide if this wears Nastya out or makes her tougher and better around the net?

Ohhh.... bad luck to Sam and Bryanne.... Sam's had a pretty poor week after all her success in Sydney and Gold Coast. Oh well, well done to Anastasia and Vera, that's a tough win against a good pair

I hope this match won't affect Nastya's singles match... she's has to be fresh with a matchup with Raymond.

Vera you are a silly girl. How can a top player have motivation to play doubles when she is out of singes?:confused:Vera won the US Open mixed title in 2004.
She's not going to bail on Bob Bryan.
And she is good friends with Anastasia.

Of course I know Vera and Nastya are good friends and I admire it but being friends they killed each other in San Diego and I woldn't be surprised if the effect will be the same tomorrow.
No one cares and remembers the doubles titles. Doubles are just for fun, not for suicide. I'm afrad even the specialist Raymond has understood it.

Exactly. I think if Raymond had wanted to continue playing that match she would have. She has a lower back strain at the moment. Serving once every four games won't do much for it, but all of the bending for low volleys and stretching for passing shots/lobs etc would have put her in serious question for the match today.

She's likely gotten a lot of rest/treatment/massage the last 24 hours (probably most of it coming from Rennae lol) so she'll be good to go.

I'm kinda wondering how she got that back strain though...first she reunites with Stubbs, now she gets a back strain despite having only had two 45 minute singles matches and one doubles match ;) :p
