This could be a close match if Lindsay Lee can keep down the errors. I can really see Lindsay Lee Waters peaking near the age of 30 like a Sylvia Farina Elia or Natalie Tauziet!
Don't give up lindsay! She i sooo much fun to watch! Even though they won't stop talking about Masha..lol ;)

Hell yeah! I have seen her play live. Its always fun to watch her play. But to hear her moans and pounding of the ball in that huge stadium is awesome! :D
I really hope she can keep improving this year and hopefully peak around age 30... :D

Not loud enough to drown out Cliff and Mary..they are giving me a headache.

Her play is impressive though..not letting Shrapnel mow over her

Lindsay has always had potential, she is just way to inconsistent and her serve is always suspect...but its nice to see her doing giving a good show.

I would have to say, this is about as well as Lee-Waters can play, and WAY underneath Sharapova's level. I'm rooting for the American, but Sharapova has shown in the past she can lift her game.

BTW, Lindsay Lee-Waters is one HOT mama!

I agree that Sharapova will pull this out, but she possibly has Svetlana to look forward to in the QF and if this is any indication as to what to expect in the coming days, I think we'll be looking at a Serena/Svetlana SF.

Now I see why Lee Water's Boy is such a fan . Totally impressed today by Lindsay. She's what makes watching the slams so fun. She really gave it her all out there, and made Sharapova work for this victory. Really hope to see more of Lindsay in the future, as she is a great player and fighter.

Funny how Mary didn't have shit to say about the fact that Sharapova had -20 differential in her winners as opposed to her unforced errors, but she had a lot of mouth on Sunday when Serena slapped her opponent 6-1, 6-1 with a positive differential in winners as opposed to unforced errors.

I know that, but at this pint, in the lower half of the draw, the only two top players who are looking good are Serena and Svetlana. I know it is early, but just an ovservation.

That's true. Svetlana especially, is playing like a woman on a mission. That said, don't let yourself be bothered by whatever nonsence Mary is spewing. It is hardly going to affect Serena's play.

It warms my heart that Lindsay Lee has gained a boatload of fans tonight. She deserves it.

Besides, she is the only *mother* among WTA players and still managed to pull this off. Must take my hat off just for that.

I won't. In fact, even if Serena doesn't win this tournament, because she has zero points to defend, she will probably be back in the top five by the Nasdaq-100 Open, therefore breaking up the Russian glut in the top six. I fully expect Venus to join her since she has a lot of points to gain this year (except during the clay court season).
