Hopefully HK was a temporary glitch and she'll show good form here.

I am happy with Vera's form in Hong Kong. She just had to play two very tough opponents who have both won Grand Slam titles in women's singles.

I hope for Vera's first-ever meeting with Daniela Hantuchová in the semi-finals here - though the groundspersons had better have plenty of squeegees ready in case they decide to have a crying contest! ;)

Watch out for Alicia Molik though - she's extremely dangerous when on form.

Vera really lost the plot mentally last night!

Crying into her towel every time she sat down, generally looking all round pissed off. Got a warning when she broke her racquet mid-way / late in the first set.
She had quite a few opportunities to get back into the match, but her general negativity wasn't really helping perhaps...

Grand finale was the dropping the big f-bomb ;) (I presume it's the same in Russian :p) at the end of the second set when the loss wasn't beyond any doubt.

Being a 'highly emotional player' doesn't have to [always] be a disadvantage, but it is a big one in Zvonareva's case, obviously.
In all seriousness, maybe the girl needs to see a sports psychologist or something!

Are You sure She was crying in Her towel at every sit down, I'm not saying She wasn't because I wasn't there ,but She does have a habit of burying Her face in a towel during the breaks, and People often think She is blubbing(sometimes I'm sure She is) You are right the emotion destroys Her sometimes , Hell during some of Her matches I feel like grabbing a big fluffy towel and crying, other times I have had tears in My eyes because I'm proud of the way She plays! Naughty Bepa!! The big f-bomb :haha:

I'm pretty sure she was, she seemed to be doing to big 'wipe the eyes' at the end when getting up and her faces and eyes always looked red / watery eyes ... not good!

Thanks, even though it's part of Her make up and She Plays through it at times, it must give Her opponents a boost to see Her like that!

:crying2:
