I know this was just a exhibition. but still davidmario Jan 6th, 2005, 11:42 AM I like Venus`new dress. Do you think the tape on her thigh was serious? Marcus1979 Jan 6th, 2005, 11:45 AM she always has something taped up these days. maybe its just precautionary Marcus1979 Jan 6th, 2005, 11:45 AM I like Venus`new dress. I watched the match on www.watsonswaterchallenge.com But there were some connection problems so hopefully it works when the double starts in 25 minutes. Elldee Jan 6th, 2005, 12:01 PM Congrats on pulling it back, Venus.... did Vera cry? davidmario Jan 6th, 2005, 12:06 PM Congrats on pulling it back, Venus.... did Vera cry? I didn't notice that but it could be cuz you can't see the faces (it's just a webcam). Venus had some great second serves on Vera`s body. One serve almost hit her in the face :D Elldee Jan 6th, 2005, 12:11 PM Venus had some great second serves on Vera`s body. One serve almost hit her in the face :D That smilie suggests you're a sadist... LOL. I watched the Stanford final recently and Venus lost due to her errors [although Lindsay hit more winners in the third, especially in the tie break] and at the US Open, Lindsay won the match with a flawless performance - until the last game where they were both shakey - but then since then Venus has been subpar with little confidence. I'm glad Venus has won, but I'd rather it had been a little more convincingly. davidmario Jan 6th, 2005, 12:36 PM That smilie suggests you're a sadist... LOL. I'm glad Venus has won, but I'd rather it had been a little more convincingly. there were great shots from venus. she had more winners than errors today. I think it was a nice win. Lets hope she'll beat Kusnetzova like she did in Warsaw 04 (6:4 6:1, I think it was) :bounce: lizchris Jan 6th, 2005, 01:14 PM When I left home, Venus was down 5-4 and Vera was serving for the match. I really thought she was going to lose since she was up 3-0 in the final set and wasted an opportunity to go up 4-0. Having said that, the one encouraging thing from this match is that she won a three set match, something she didn't do a lot in 2004 but if she wants to be considered a favorite for the AO, she'd better worrk on her forehand because I bet it almost got her in trouble today. locawilliams Jan 6th, 2005, 02:10 PM Venus play awful in this match, serve is still awful. davidmario Jan 6th, 2005, 03:05 PM Hopefully she's not too tired to beat Sveta tomorrow! | |
