I didn't notice that but it could be cuz you can't see the faces (it's just a webcam).

I watched the Stanford final recently and Venus lost due to her errors [although Lindsay hit more winners in the third, especially in the tie break] and at the US Open, Lindsay won the match with a flawless performance - until the last game where they were both shakey - but then since then Venus has been subpar with little confidence. I'm glad Venus has won, but I'd rather it had been a little more convincingly.

there were great shots from venus. she had more winners than errors today.
I think it was a nice win. Lets hope she'll beat Kusnetzova like she did in Warsaw 04 (6:4 6:1, I think it was) :bounce:

When I left home, Venus was down 5-4 and Vera was serving for the match. I really thought she was going to lose since she was up 3-0 in the final set and wasted an opportunity to go up 4-0. Having said that, the one encouraging thing from this match is that she won a three set match, something she didn't do a lot in 2004 but if she wants to be considered a favorite for the AO, she'd better worrk on her forehand because I bet it almost got her in trouble today.

Venus play awful in this match, serve is still awful.

Hopefully she's not too tired to beat Sveta tomorrow!
