Hi Gang- brace yourself for this. It's true- STAR SPORTS has
blanket coverage and exclusive rights for TV coverage of
the 2005 Aussie Open in all of Asia except Japan!
We'll all be seeing the lead up shows [the Official AO films]
prior to start date in Melbourne. This will be a great time
for everyone to catch up on the years of 1997-2004, especially
the HINGIS years.

We in Singapore and everyone else will suffer w/ English
tv commentary by VJ and Co. Lucky people in Taiwan, and
China will get Chinese TV commentary.

*Good news for Singapore. We will be getting delayed coverage
of all the matches from the HK exhibition; but ( duh!!) during
the first week of the Australian Open on Channel 22 singles/dubs.

Be sure to look out for the Maria/Venus match live from
Chiang Mai on January 2 on STAR SPORTS.
Also daily delayed match coverage of the HOPMAN Cup 2005.

TELESCOPE the monthly starhub cable magazine, has a nice
mini profiles on JHH, Serena and Maria; so hopefully this
means that they'll be featured as the main stories for the
AO 2005 STAR SPORTS tv coverage.

Yes, during the 1 hour official AO film show. It will be on
from Jan 9 every night. Check you local listing. It will start
from AO 1997.

We will also be daily delayed coverage of the HOPMAN Cup! :)

Thanks so much, Greenout. You don't know how excited I am. Could you please confirm whether this applies for Star Sports India as well, since that's what we get in Pakistan. It would be a real pity if Star Sports India don't carry these special films. The good thing though, is that we'll be getting coverage on three channels for the Australian Open. :bounce:

HI- I did some research for you and you'll also be getting an
extra show called AO 1988-1998 too; but no Hopman Cup.

Please check you local times for exact start times. Our timezones
are a tad different; but AO fever will start for all of us on Jan 9! :)

Go here everybody for up to the minute schedules in your area. :yeah:

No. ESPN/STAR is shown in Asia.

I think you may be getting AO coverage on ESPN/ESPN2 back
in the USA; but you'll have to check your local schedules.

I'm not too sure if the Hopman Cup will be shown on the
Tennis Channel, though.

Again- check your local listing.
