I know not all the Chinese are like that, but whenever I hear the word China, all I can think about are : Government who doesn't care about killing people and Massacre of the tibetan PEACEFUL people... I don't like that country. I do like the culture and the very very old traditions, etc. It's amazingly interesting. But the way that country is governed nowadays scares me.

(The Good):

- Peking Duck.
- Culture (the best in Asia, IMO).
- Taoism.
- Feng Shui.
- Dragon/Lion Dances.
- Chinese New Year (Red Packets).
- Booming economy and wealth.
- Tang dynasty.
- Chinese characters.
- Mandarin.
- The Forbidden City.
- Hard-working citizens.
- Fortune cookies.
- Outstanding cuisine.
- The Great Wall.
- The Altar of Heaven.
- Martial arts (e.g. Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Wu Shu).
- Deng Xiaopeng.
- Zhou Enlai.
- Gong Li.
- Zhang ZiYi.
- Jet Li.
- AKTW (aka: Tweety) :).
- Government support for things such as elderly care and schooling, which in most other countries come at a premium.

(The Bad):

- Excessive poverty (the rich get richer and the poor have nowhere to go).
- Excessive pollution.
- SARS and other potential outbreaks.
- Certain places (such as rural villages) that need more government support.
- Gender inequality.
- Shoddy and poorly assembled products that are often counterfeits.
- Mao Zedong.
- Tiananmen Square incident.
- The Great Leap Forward.
- The Cultural "Revolution".
- Jiang Zemin.

(The Ugly):
- Infringements of property and intellectual rights, and the government's lack of control over the matter.
- Tibet.
- Racism.
- Excessive nationalism.
- Anti-Japanese sentiments that are bordering on fanaticism and do nothing but make the Chinese look uncultured and utterly immature.
- Booming economy = booming nationalism = booming arrogance.
- Bucket loads of human rights that need to be resolved - immediately.
- Communist government = extremely biased media.
