I have some questions about the southeastern states of the US: Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas.
How would you describe the positions of these states in the US, are they economically strong or are they more part of a weaker region? What's the level of crime in those states individually and how's the mentality there? Do they have anything to say in the US or are they states that aren't that important?
Lots of tourists? What are the tourist attractions in each of these states? What kind of people live there? Smart region or not that smart?

Thanks :)

I live in Alabama, so I can tell you a few things ;). Most think we are redneck idiots, but that is a small percentage of the population. There aren't many attractions in Alabama, but there are probably a lot in other states (I haven't been to any of them). Florida has very nice beaches and it is very relaxing. Alabama is freaking poor, and has one of the worst education systems in the country. But I still think we have more intelligent people than dumb people here. We have many famous people from here. Condi Rice, Helen Keller, some more I forgot :o. Anyways, that's pretty much all I know. I'm not a good history student. BTW, racism is pretty much dead here.

We bought the guns so why don't we use them?

Do they have anything to say in the US or are they states that aren't that important?

Heck we tried to leave once before but dem god damn scalawags wouldn't let us.

Lots of tourists? What are the tourist attractions in each of these states?
mud wrestling, rodeos, and gun shows.

What kind of people live there? Smart region or not that smart?

The Southeast as a whole is much poorer than the rest of the country, which is probably a factor in the high crime. We also have less "progressive" justice systems.

Despite the poverty, I would say that the South has a lot of power in making decisions in the US. It was the South that got Bush elected, and every president has to make inroads in the South to win victory. (We can see from Kerry's attempt that people who ignore the South will lose).
