They lost the mixed as well.... I really hope they can recover well enough to make the final.... I couldn't bear the thought of Mark and Alicia winning it.... it would be such a bad start to the year for me...

Wow, there's a trend in Hopman Cup of alternating players letting the team down. In 2002, Hewitt got injured and Australia had to pull out. In 2004, Molik got injured. Also in 2004, Anastasia let Marat down by losing most of her singles and stuffing their doubles. Now it's Marat's turn to let them down. Kind of sad really... I like Marat.

Hopefully, next year's the year.

Marat and Nastya didnt talk to each other the whole match, they dont even know how to play doubles.

Gisela played perfect, the best player on court making up for her terrible singles match against Myskina earlier.

The dead mixed doubles rubber in the Russia/Italy tie was really entertaining last night...did anyone else see it?
Nastya, Marat, Davide and Francesca were pretty much mucking around for the first 8 games or so. At one stage Nastya served a DF because she was laughing too hard!
