Alex ! Are you crazy ?
A player within the top100 is automatically placed in the main draw ; Anna never was lower than 71-73 and should definetly in
Question on Fabricia Zuluaga though who went down the "charts" due to injury as well

Hey, Bram! Where are you been in few weeks?
Back to my answer from your question, she's Australian. You can see her results at Aussie Assaults in Australian Open Forum
Wheeler and Watson were announced a couple weeks ago...so does this mean Pierce has the French wildcard?
The Asian one is still to be decided, so that leaves 4 open...

Glad Christina has a WC
Pierce is French so that makes it a French WC , they're not going to give out another one.
Plus Gold Exempts dont count in Slams.

Alex, I think that the McQuillan comeback was great stuff 2001 - do you have any idea why this happened or, asked differently, why there was this slump ?
I think that in the early 90ies, Bradtke, McQuillan and the others profit a bit more from the Asian tour which was around spring and autumn and left them alone with the big names in Europe and they themselves winning those events ; when they ended, possibilities to headline events were rare, right ?

What does that mean TBE, that gold exempts don't count in Slams?
And why does Mary need a WC if she has an injury protected ranking?

Slams are run by the ITF and not by the WTA which gives out Gold Exempt status for players on the Tour only.
but if you miss 3 slams in a row and your rank slips down then you may use a Special Rank to get into a slam.

thanks for the reply...
but since Mary missed the last three Slams- why did the Aussie Federation have to burn up a WC on her?

Wild card offering is different from getting into the tourn via a Special Rank so she will still have that up her sleeve but i doubt she will need it by then.
