Good luck especially to Rui and Sheng-Nan in the final rd of qualies. :D

Good luck to both Yi and Rui!;)

Mar 19th, 2002, 09:41 PM
BTW, I find the www.***************** site a lot better than the ITF's official junior site.

About the British players, it was not a successful qualifiers

Katie O'Brien lost in the first round to Daniella Dominikovic.
Hannah Grady lost in the second round to Natasha Kersten.

Hmm, both beaten by the Aussies, just like Henman

I presume PRC is another acroynm for China (People's republic of China). I thought the normal initials were CHN but there you go.

Expecting Olivia Luckasewicz to make a splash here and cause some upsets...she's had a good progressive confidence boost since her two consecutive wins in Adelaide(grade 5) and Wollongong(Grade5)...then the semis in another rade3 losing in 3 sets recently...:)!!!

Daniella's a hot and cold player...if she gets on a hot streak shes more capable than Olivia ;) , also prettier

go aussies!!!!!!

Mar 20th, 2002, 05:06 PM
From our newspaper, Su-Wei is playing here :D, she is seeded 1 and won her first match 6-3 6-2, and next round she will play Hsiao-Han.The newspaper also says that Chin-Wei lost to Rui Du 4-6 4-6,So I think Rui Du beat Yi in the qualifying final round, too

Thanks for the results lin. :)

It was certainly a surprise to see Su-Wei playing here, but I'm glad she hasn't abandoned the juniors, since she can only play a limited number of pro tourneys. :)

I'm not surprised with last week's winner, Rui's demolition over Chin-Wei. She's going to be very good I can assure you that. Remember the name. ;)

That's the 2nd straight loss for Yurika Sema in a 3rd set tiebreak. :fiery:

Thanks for the news, lin. :D

I anticipated this match-up between Su-Wei and Rui from the beginning of the tournament, and I'm looking forward to the outcome.

I'd expect Su-Wei to come out since she has so much more experience, although I hope Rui makes a match of it. :)

Good luck to both. ;)

Well done also to Ting-Wen. Do you know much about her, lin?

I don't know much about her. I know that her coach is Na Hu, a former top 50 Chinese player, she has a tennis club to train many girls for Taiwan, and now she is Taiwanese. And Ting-Wen reached SF at our last year's Championship, but lost to Su-Wei 6-3 6-4.According to some people who saw that match, they said her playing type just like Henin. That's all I know.

well done Su-Wei win this :)

diappointed that Beier couldn't win that one, I hope she'll play more events this year though particularly higher level ones because she's got talent to do well. Close loss, hopefully she will pick up some stronger results as the year progresses though :)
