Elena lost, again. That's her semis chances gone, barring withdrawals. It has not been a kind tournament for our Elena. Poor draw, and even poorer form... but in her defence, it has been a long season. So, some tears for Elena's final tournament of the year. :crying2:

To the bright news. We still love her, no matter the scores, no matter her form. As well as being a long year, it has, overall, been a good year for Elena, a career high year ending ranking of 5 (Is it possible for Maria to pass her? I don't think so, but I'm not sure) We also know she'll work hard on the serve, come back a newer, and better player, and go to Australia with minimal points to defend. :hearts:

So, here's to the new year, in which we have much to look forward to (now where is the beer smiley?!)

P.S I know it's only October, but it's the end of the year in regards to Elena playing tennis, which is good enough for me

Well lets not be sad its the End of everyone elses year too!
2004 has been overal a great year For SS Dementieva!!! she is the only girl to get too 2 GS finals and reached a career high of 4!!
We will undergo a Refit during off season and make tweaks to our performance ahead of our 2005 "cruising" Season!!
One thing is good Lenas serve is improving and her performance here at YEC is simply the result of being "off Form" had she been in USO or Moscow etc form , USS Serena woulda been dead in the water today!
Lena can beat the lot of em ,she just needs to be at her best ,in recommendation from Commander Steph!! I have contacted Admiral Vera to see if we may alter our Itenery ahead of next years YEC and Play Philly instead of Zurich!
Lets be happy and look forward to good times ahead ,see my Sig below!! i think it says it all!!

It was a good match, she played much better than yesterday. Serena has just escaped a second very tight match. Lena's hopes of making the SF depend on Lindsay losing both of her next two matches, which probably won't happen, but you never know.

At least we get to see one more match, her vs Nastya, and she gets another chance at revenge, and to salvage a win from this tournament at least.

A great year overall. And maybe I will get to see her in Australia next year.

I love Lena D! I hope she can improve on her toss and start serving better. I think her groundstrokes tops everyone in WTA, but a weak always causes her!!!!

Lindsay lose one,but i think lena will lose to Mys to ensure her to go on SF

If she doesn't go to Sydney, I will cry! I'm going almost everyday next year to the international. And yes, my bad, it is in fact November

Not a great finish at this tournament..but still theres the chance to finish with a win...Nasty will be very tough though..:)
Overall a pleasing year for Lena though, she could easily have had a couple of extra titles..

A positive out of the poor finish might be that it gives Lena more motivation to improve for next year...
When asked in an interview, this week, if she thought the Russians can dominate next year Lena said that it depends on whether they still have the motivation to keep working hard to improve....I think Lena will have this motivation going into the break :)
Good luck next year Lena :hatoff:

Well, my question was answered. Sharapova has overtaken her, so Elena will finish 6. Still a good effort
