 Oh dear oh dear
Dementieva loses 6-0 6-1
to davenport

From what i heard, i would not be suprised if Elena shed a few tears after this one.

Even so, it's early days, there is still hope. :)

COME ON ELENA

She's not anninhilated, maybe in the scoreline, but she won't give up yet, let us pls stay positive, i don't think Lena shed tears, cuz from what i saw is that Lena didn't show any shock of the loss afterwards.....

I think there was one game in the 2nd set that had 17 or 18 deuces and lasted 25 mins, which is longer than the entire first set!

She ended up losing that game, but at least she's a fighter.

She has also made 12 double faults in the match, 5!!! in the first game!

you're right JC, it was indeed a long Deuce game, 18 times deuce, Lena kept on fighting, but when she lost sth just snapped by Lena and she didn't manage to serve good in the last game......

leavw my lena alone.she suffers from nerves and if u r not happy on the court u become 2 negative, even if u r winning!!!

If Elena plays like she did at the end of the second set she should be able to beat Serena as she kept netting the ball against Myskina.

seriously i think this draw is rather unfair....elena can beat all the players in the other group..

Look - it doesnt matter if elena does not win this tournament as we all know she is still the best - SHE IS VERY ALTRUISTIC - she doesnt like showing off so she lets her opponents have an easy ride so that they dont have nervous breakdowns

she deserves an award for this kind heartedness

Lena is capable of beating (and losing) to all the players in both groups so there shouldnt be a problem.
All these players are the best so its always going to be tough if Lena isnt at her best.
I think today will be a different story than against Davey...Serena may be a little tired after her long match yesterday and Lena can only get better :D

Let's be positive, at least the match was short. She'll be less tired than Anastasia and Serena, and let's also take into, that was her first match for a fair bit... and Davenport isn't the kindest of people to be playing after a break. We shall assume Elena is lulling them into a false sense of security.... and will now unleash her awesome serve, that dwarfs Andy Roddick's in regards to pace and movement....

wow, so far Elena's fastest serve is 107mph!! and she has one ace!

Dementieva was destroyed in this tournament - the last thing she needs is a break as her confidence will be low into the new seasosn
