Dear Prospective Ericsson Open Volunteer 2002,

Come and find out why hundreds of volunteers return year after year. If you like watching tennis, meeting new people or working as part of a team behind the scenes of one of the world’s most prestigious tennis events, please complete the enclosed application and send it back to us. Feel free to pass the additional application along to a friend. For additional copies, please download from our website or call us at (305) 365-3178.

WHAT SORT OF TIME COMMITMENT DO WE EXPECT?

Usually a minimum of nine shifts of five hours each. You may double up your shifts if you wish to commit to fewer days. Either way, you will have plenty of time to enjoy the tennis.

WHAT DOES THE ERICSSON OPEN VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION PACKAGE CONSIST OF?

Tournament uniform - Two t-shirts, a jacket and a hat . Please provide your own khaki shorts or slacks to compliment your uniform.
Tickets - eight tickets for Section 414 in Stadium Court and four grounds passes. Stadium tickets can be used on Wed, March 20 day or night; Thu, March 21 day or night; Fri, March 22 night; Sun, March 24 night; Mon, March 25 night; Tue, March 26 day or night; Wed, March 27 day.
Photo ID Badge - With access to stadium court on certain days and unlimited access to all other courts.
Meal Coupons - For each shift worked. $8 per shift / $16 maximum per day.
Free Parking - Marine Stadium with shuttle to and from the tournament.
Volunteer Party - Good fun, great prizes, food and entertainment.
We also offer additional tickets for those working more than nine shifts. For thirteen shifts, you receive two tickets for Thursday, March 28 day and two tickets for Thursday, March 28 night (traditionally the women’s semifinals). For fifteen shifts, you receive two tickets for Friday, March 29 day and two tickets for Friday, March 29 night (traditionally the men’s semifinals). Note: Working fifteen shifts does not entitle you to the tickets for Thursday, March 28 matches.

We have over 900 volunteers annually, so if this is your first time we encourage you to take the plunge and be part of our tradition.

The Volunteer Staff along with Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, Jennifer Capriati and the Williams sisters look forward to seeing you at Ericsson Open 2002!

Sincerely,

Tracy Knight, Volunteer Director
Diane Thompson, Volunteer Manager
As a volunteer for the last 2 years, I have no worry that they'll get enough for the tourney. People don't usually start sending their applications in until after the holidays. Hopefully they will, or I'll have to work double shifts!!

Sorry, my passes are already spoken for!

How old do you have to be to volunteer? I live in Florida, and I would love to volunteer, but I'm only 17. Let me know and thanks.
