:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

but with her SF loss, lena is just around 50 pts above Sveta,

and then lena will lose 110 pts in yec

so she has to gain 60 pts more than Sveta in yec to take year-end no.4 :scared:

hopefully lena can do it :worship:

Honestly, the WTA computers are as bad as the BCS (American college football ranking system that NEVER gets it right).

Everybody knows Lena is #1.

Why will she loses 110 points in YEC?Last yr LenaD earned 110 pts from YEC...
so..this yr she has to defend those points..
110 pts will be taken off from her current point..

now Lena leads Sveta about 50 points..
but when the week of YEC comes...
Lena will lose 110 pts..
so she will be behind Sveta 60 pts...

Sveta doesn't defend any pts at YEC..
cos' she didn't make it last yr..

:)

Oh I see... so her 50 pt lead is short lived.

If the AO's draw is open (i.e. Davy, Momo, JHH stay out) maybe she can win that. Hopefully she doesn't run into Myskina again. Then she'll probably become Russia #1.

Myskina's position as Russia #1 is seriously under threat from Kuzna, Masha, and Lena. The lead is pretty slim, and I would say that Masha has had a better year than her.

but if she wins she gets more points and doesnt lose 110pts rightnext week...maybe Lena will be back to #5...
cos' 110 pts of YEC will be taken off next week...
YEC was held in th week of Nov 3rd in 2003...

about this yr ... if Lena wins the YEC...she will get like 700 pts..
of cos' she earns more than she loses.. 700-110...

Players gets 67 points for making the YEC even though they don't win a match..
last yr..Lena won 1 match against Chanda...and she got 43 from quality point
so... 67+43 = 110

about ranking...
the matter is Sveta...
she will only earn and earn..
She will earn 67 pts at least..
but Lena might lose 43 pts if she lost all match...
Lena has to do better than Sveta if she wants to end at #4

I read in GM...Lena said..she won't just go to LA t participate in YEC this time..
she wants a good result there...:yeah:
Lena is damn determined now :D

If the Williams sisters make it in (all indications look likely) they might rain of the russian parade.

Even if not, Momo and Lindsay are still favorite to win, unless their injuries don't heal in time. They are consistent players.

I would like to see another Myskina vs Sharapova match, or Sharapova vs Kuzna.

Points are only good for 52 weeks (calendar year). The last points earned come off and the current points come on.

The last points earned come off and the current points come on.sorry mate, what you said is partly valid only for Porsche Race - yes, every new season starts with zero - and others said mostly of WTA rankings, it's round-robin, last 52 calendar weeks count...
