Do you know that the area of the Seat Open in Kockelscheuer (Luxembourg) is a real cradle of top tennis players. :D
The astonishing career of Belgian Tennis Star Kim Clijsters began in the year 1999 at the Seat Open when she won her first title as a qualifier over her compatriot Dominique van Roost! :)
In 2001 the Slovenian Tina Pisnik reached the semifinal as a qualifier and was last year on position 31 of the WTA ranking.

In 2000 Magdalena Maleeva reached her first final on WTA Tour in a Tier III here in Luxembourg in a year she improves her ranking from 76 to 23.

Of course the Luxembourgish audience became witness of the Russian revolution in tennis with Elena Bovina in QF in 2002 and semifinalist Maria Sharapova last year.

But the most positive experience with the Seat Open has Kim Clijsters who loves that tournament and her neighbour country. She considers the Seat Open as her favourite tounament and prefers Luxembourg to Linz, where is a higher price money and more WTA points. :D :bounce:

Come back soon Kim ( and also Justine) because everybody miss you on the WTA tour! :wavey:
Besides the local heros Claudine and Anne Kim Clijsters is very popular in Luxembourg!! :)

The Seat Open are of cause an ideal opportunity for the Luxembourgish upcoming stars to breathe some WTA Tour air. So Claudine Schaul made the beginning on the WTA Tour here at the Seat Open and Mandy Minella debuts 2001 in the first quali round for an important tournament here in Luxembourg.

But which indigenous player do you consider as the greatest Luxembourgish player ? The player who will have the most successful career?

Anne Kremer or
Claudine Schaul or
Mandy Minella
