TSN is so desparate that they were showing an early 90s Oilers vs Bruins game the other day.

lol, i'm jealous.

flipped through the satellite guide and espn classic had four old games scheduled for today...i was so excited that i clicked 'select' and found an old guy reminiscing about his days with the red sox...i was like, wtf????

fuckers CANCELLED the classic games. espn has NO RESPECT for the NHL.

Fuck the NHL, Yankees/Red Sox trumps all.

And the Yankees trump the Red Sox, so more Yankees = more gooder.

Yankees

Boston :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Why does Boston even fucking bother?

It's not, really. I started making fun of them midway through the first game and have not cheered for them since. Too pathetic for even me to cheer them on.

It truly is a lost cause. I rooted for them last year, and that was one too many times. As much as I like to boo at the Yankees, there is just no point in investing any interest in this series, except to point and laugh. It's sort of like with Roddick-Robredo. Robredo is always going to lose in horrible fashion. At least, unlike the Red Sox, he has the good sense not to prolong the process for as long as possible before snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Despite my liking for Robredo and my gigantic sense of "meh" for Roddick, I will not waste time really caring what happens during their matches, unless it involved giggling or gawking or what not. Same idea!

I want a more competitive series which I think it still will be but I wouldn't complain about a Yankee sweep.

I watched Game 1 at a sports bar in downtown Springfield and when the Red Sox started coming back some Joe College started to taunt me. One thing you don't want to do is that because I will do it back in your face which I did. The best was walking out singing "New York, New York" as he shot me dirty looks. My friends thought he was going to sucker punch me. We would have jacked them though, my crew comes hard.

A lot of little things amused me. Jim Norton was once again on fire and they had Stephen Lynch in studio today who did a live rendition of "Craig Christ".

Pulled a hewitt? I never liked Hewitt that much to begin with!

Ferrero has been so dead and suck all year that I just started paying attention to other people more. These other people have gone on to do such great things as break their foot and get kidney stones. Whatever. Go yankees!

They are the only show that I would even have considered not only buying an overpriced radio and a monthly fee for. Been loving them since '96. I can't get enough.

They do put up some bits on their website though, including the soon to be infamous "drilldo".

They dont' really have any sponsors yet although they are finally getting a Jagermeister machine again (ah, Jagermeister the downfall of The Steamer) but they do short breaks to give themselves time to go to the bathroom and Norton to rub one out. Friggin' guy plays with himself on the air. The guy is hysterical.

How does European hockey work? Maybe the NHL should become a division of European hockey, and the winner of the Stanley Cup gets into the playoffs for the European championship.

No, hard alcohol. The legend is that its made with deer blood. It has a licoricey taste to it and I love it. Well, except for the fact that everytime I think of it now I get nausous since I get hella drunk on it the last two times I had it. I was so drunkenly quotable last time that some of my better lines were set to "It's a Wonderful World".

I enjoy the show but I needed to listen to it to preserve my sanity. I didn't like to spend the money but I couldn't stand listening to the same old boring bullshit every single day to and from work. A lot of what they say is extremely inappropriate but it makes you laugh those guilty laughs.

No, most of the good European players are in the NHL already.

The problem is too many teams have lessened the talent pool.

GBFH
Oct 15th, 2004, 02:37 AM
uh...works like regular hockey.

each country has various leagues...it would be impossible to have just one euro champion to compete against the stanley cup champs. that, and their playoffs end long before the NHL.

deer blood. well if it's not beer, i might try it out. but it'll have to wait until thanksgiving...and christmas...boxing day...new year's...the day the NHL comes back. well, in that case, i'll stock up now!

Honestly, I don't see hockey until 2005, and by that I mean October.

We might not even have the NHL, couldn't they form some other league? It's clear Bettman doesn't have a clue as to what he's doing.

There's some report about Pavel moving to a team in the Swedish Elite League, but I can't find out any info. I just can't learn to read Czech. However I did read, and guessed correctly that he was given the #13 back, and also was named Captain of HC Vitkovice.

We might not have hockey for years and years.... At least I don't have to worry about the lineup on my NHL 2k5 being outdated, as long as there are no games then the lineup is correct.

YAHOO!!

Wasnt there a deal pieced together recently and got rejected?
I think their differnt views are start to converge, and that's a good thing.
NHL can still be ready by January if they work on it.

yep. both sides made proposals. i don't remember the '95 lockout, so maybe that's normal. doesn't really matter, though...i don't miss the NHL all that much. they can come back...whenever.
