Maglev Trains as a replacement for the Amtrak trains. It could reduce pollution drastically, in Japan, have a 99% reliability percentages, it causes no friction (NO oil and maintainance. The train actually floats or hoovers inches above the track. The maglev train consist of strong electromagnets and the track also, consist of synchnorizing electromagnets that are energized which creates the propulsion. Better alternate to flying because the Maglev train has little safety hazards as opposed to flying and uses no fuel. Already in Japan and results have been astounding. Plus, these Bullet Trains can travel up to 600 mph, which is faster than most airplanes. Theoretically, there is no limit to how fast Bullet Trains could travel(maybe not S.O.L), but you get the idea. I just think it could benefit the US greatly and reduce the dependency on foreign oil. Hopefully John Kerry will bring it up or something.
