I don't imagine if a Canadians wins the title lol ;)

Canadiens always loses in 1st round after good fight... It's the year for change! 2nd round is a good objective :)

I think our chances in the future are getting bigger and bigger for a second round, with for sure 4 quebecers that can win a match at this level! Go Steph and Mara!

Yeah, I think we have so many "espoirs" who could reach top 100 one day or maybe top 50 with Aleks and Steph but they have good season so maybe they will wins a match here......

Let's hope our *espoirs* ;) can get though one round....And Marie-Eve playing great this week, having her two best wins of the year, one of them being indoors, she has a shot also!

Did Tania Rice, Valérie Thétrault or Chantae Beethman comes in qualies?

¤CharlDa¤

Beetham would be surprising....I think Rice, Gloria and Tetreault are almost sure to have a spot!

This is a very long shot, but I pick Marie-Eve Pelletier to win the title. She's been having a great season and she's gonna put the icing on the cake with her first WTA Tour title.

Go get it!!

Three Canadians in Main Draw: Pelletier[WC], Marois[WC] and Dubois because she was finalist in Alberquerque!

I will not be surprise if Aleks Wozniak qualies for MD and Pelletier and Dubois wins a match (for Mel it's toughter)

Is Maureen Drake playing this tournament? She isn't on the qualifying list yet, unless she gets a wildcard later?

Wiggly
Oct 27th, 2004, 12:19 AM
I think she wil not play because I think there are only 2 WC so I think we will don't see Maureen at Quebec

Maybe she will get a wildcard for qualifying?

¤CharlDa¤

She isn't in the list and i don't expect her to come here....I'm still wondering if Maureen is in a certain fight with either the girls of Quebec, or even tennis canada, cause first she doesn't play fed cup for a nebulous reason and then she isn't playing quebec where she actually has second round points to defend!

Does anyone know if there are any Canadian's in the qualifying tournament? The website has not posted any information.

You're kidding me right? She has one main draw win on the WTA tour to her name...that was three years ago...and that was at TASHKENT.

I agree she's much better than her ranking, but the bottom line is that she's never beaten a top 100 player in her career, and she's gonna need to beat 4 or 5 of them to win this.

Please know your facts....Marie-Eve just beat Marissa Irvin few weeks ago that was in the top 80

Now saying she'll win the tourney is

I have feeling then tomorrow, 2 of 3 Quebec players will wins her match so far...The only loser will be Marois

I think Dubois could reach quarter...Pelletier maybe too but Dubois was  in her practicing with Lubomira :)

Sharon Fichman and Valerie Tetreault should get a wildcard for doubles.
Unlikely as Val has used up all her wild cards and Sharon isn't old enough to play WTA events!!!!
