In an interview with Access Hollywood, jazz legend Tony Bennett revealed that he and Whitney Houston will record a "wonderful ballad" together.

Bennett said to expect a ballad from his collaboration with Houston, and hints that the timing of its release will be appropriate.

"It's a wonderful ballad," he said. "It's a great ballad, and it fits the occasion."

While they haven't recorded the song yet, Bennett said he is open to working in whatever locale is most amenable to Houston.

"Anywhere," he said. "Wherever it is convenient for her."

The jazz singer said he learned of Houston's desire to work with him, which she announced on Access Hollywood, from a fan while walking the streets of New York.

"I was walking down 5th avenue...and this lady said, 'Tony, did you hear what Whitney Houston said about you...she wants to sing with you.' I said, 'You're kidding.' I couldn't believe it."

After a little time away, producer Rodney Jerkins is back on the Billboard charts. With his Darkchild crew, he has a hand in the new Destiny's Child single, "Lose My Breath," from the trio's forthcoming Columbia album, "Destiny Fulfilled," and Kierra "KiKi" Sheard's "You Don't Know," from her No. 1 gospel debut, "I Owe You" (EMI Gospel).

But judging from Darkchild's slate of works in progress, Jerkins doesn't have a lot of time to celebrate.

His projects include teen star Lindsay Lohan's solo debut on Casablanca and a new album from Jennifer Lopez. In addition to producing songs for model Tyra Banks (including "Shake Your Body"), Jerkins is collaborating with his wife, Joy Enriquez (for his Darkchild imprint through Bungalo/Universal) and 2004 "American Idol" winner Fantasia. He's also working with several newcomers, including Bad Boy acts B5 and Sherry Dennis, Casablanca's Cory Gunz and Darkchild's female hip-hop artist Asia Lee.

Additionally, the 26-year-old Orlando, Fla.-based producer is recording his own instrumental album, "Versatility," due early next year. And he's on his way to London to write with Cathy Dennis for Whitney Houston.

Cathy Dennis is one of the most successful, influential and prolific writers of over the last ten years. She is one of the most talented British writers ever and she shows absolutely no sign of slowing down. Her career in music started when she was spotted by Simon Fuller. Cathy subsequently was signed by Polydor Records, her career as an artist garnered her three US top ten hits from her debut album and she was in fact the most successful UK singles artist in the US charts in 1991. She released two further albums which spawned such hits as 'Why' and 'Irresistible'. Since the release of her third album Cathy has focused exclusively on songwriting for other artists and has penned hits for some of the biggest artists from the UK and the US including Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, Delta Goodrem, The Spice Girls, Kylie Minogue, S Club, Will Young, Gareth Gates, S Club 8 and the theme from Pop (American) Idol.

2 rumor's floating around.

1. Whitney will start recording her new album with Walter Afanasieff - Mariah's ex partner - and that they were put together by Tommy Mottola who is signed to promote and market Whitney on radio as he did with Usher."

2. WHITNEY HOUSTON and BOBBY BROWN are reportedly writing about their past marriage problems to help other couples in trouble. The singing couple hit the headlines last Christmas (03) after police were called to their Atlanta, Georgia home for a domestic disturbance, where Brown was charged with misdemeanor battery. The pair already have a tentative book deal after telling business associates they're serious about penning a self-help book.
