...do you use? Mariah Carey's Hero, is simply one of the most beautiful songs ever writen and the message is so inspiring!!!! Mariah sings it flawlessly and I have an intense connection to this song. It's hard now being an adult, living on your own, having to pay your own bills and for me, having to compete for recognition in a large financial services firm...It can get to a person. I wake up every weekday morning and thank god for another day and ask him to give me the strength to overcome the days challenges and thank him for the desire to keep going. I tell myself that I am young and I have alot going for me and I am thankful and aware of people who are fighting far greater fights...:worship:

I listen to Hero many times when I get up and is getting dressed for work...during my commute, and maybe once or twice more when I get to work...It's one thing to understand inspiring words...You have to connect with them...If you go and listen to an inspirational speaker and you take in the words and understand them, you still wont get much out of them if you dont connect with them.

There's a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid
Of what you are
There's an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

It's a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself
And the emptiness you felt
Will disappear

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

Lord knows
Dreams are hard to follow
But don't let anyone
Tear them away
Hold on
There will be tomorrow
In time
You'll find the way

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

In terms of inspirational music, it is Whitney Houston's "one moment in time", that is most probably because I am a procastinator; I turn it on when I have something I have to do but dread doing it:
Each day I live
I want to be
A day to give
The best of me
I'm only one
But not alone
My finest day
Is yet unknown

I broke my heart
Fought every gain
To taste the sweet
I face the pain
I rise and fall
Yet through it all
This much remains

I want one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity

I've lived to be
The very best
I want it all
No time for less
I've laid the plans
Now lay the chance
Here in my hands

Give me one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity

You're a winner for a lifetime
If you seize that one moment in time
Make it shine

Give me one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will be
I will be
I will be free
I will be
I will be free

Another beautiful song...:worship:

I have to say that when I was breaking up with my lover of 3+ years...And I wanted him to move out...I would play EVERYDAY...

Friday night you and your boys went out to eat
Then they hung out
But you came home around three
Yes you did
If six of y'all went out
Then four of you are really cheap, yeah
Cuz only two of you had dinner
I found your credit card receipt

1 - It's not right, but it's ok
I'm gonna make it anyway
Pack your bags, up and leave
Don't you dare come running back to me

It's not right, but it's ok
I'm gonna make it anyway
Close the door behind you, leave your key
I'd rather be alone than unhappy

I pack a bag so you can leave town for a week, yes I am
The phone rings and then you look at me
(Why turn and look at me)
You said it was one of your friends
Down on 54th street, boy
So why did 213 show up on your caller ID

(I've been through all of this before)
I've been through all of this before
(So go out an dget your things)
Don't think about it, don't think about it
(And all the sleeping around, it takes some, boy )
They gon' get yours
(Things are gonna change)
Things are gonna change, baby
( Cuz I won't be your fool anymore)
You don't stand a chance, boy
(That's why you'll have to leave)
Say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(So don't turn around to see my face)
Don't you turn around
There's no more tears left here for you to see

Was it really worth you going out like that
Tell me boy
See I'm moving on
And I refuse to turn back, yeah
See all of this time
I thought I had somebody down for Whitney
It turns out you were making a fool of me, yeah

Mariah has written a lot of inspirational lyrics imo. She may not be to everyones taste but I think she's a great songwriter.

Anyway... one of the songs I listen to a lot is Toni's "Let It Flow" cause it's true... If you just let things take their course... even though they can seem terrible... It usually does work out alright in the end. So... it's a good song for a worrier like me to listen to!

And this too...Yeah, I was really conflicted...:o

"Think Of You"

Oh yeah
Sh de da de dup dem de doo

All the time I think of you
Holding on to someone new
Don't make me lose my mind
Seems like I been here before
Baby I can't take no more
Of you trying to play me out baby

I feel so strange thinking about you
After all the wrong you've done to me
I can't go on feeling like I do
Cause my heart loves you
I'm so confused

[Chorus]
Don't waste my time
Cause someone like me you'll never find
I thought we had a good thing
But I was wrong and now I must move on

To another love one that I can trust
With my heart I know she'll never run away
Just can't talk no more
So I'm out the door
Talk to me
Why you wanna play love games

[Chorus]
Don't waste my time
Cause someone like me you'll never find
I thought we had a good thing
But I was wrong and now I must move on

[Bridge]

[Chorus]
Don't waste my time
Cause someone like me you'll never find
I thought we had a good thing
But I was wrong and now I must move on

Cause I know I'll never knowingly commit a crime... and haven't so far just because I'd be so worried about what could happen to me if I was caught

Another uber-positive "believe in yourself" Mariah song:

Can't Take That Away (Mariah's Theme)

They can say,
Anything they want to say,
Try to bring me down,
But I will not allow anyone to succeed hanging clouds over me,
And they can try
How to make me feel that I,
Don't matter at all,
But I refuse to falter in what I believe or loose faith in my dreams

'Cause there's,
There's a light in me,
That shines brightly,
They can try,
But they can't take that away from me
From me

No no no

Oh they,
They can do
Anything they want to you,
If you let them in,
But they won't ever win,
If you cling to you pride, and just push them aside,
See I,
I have learned,
There's an inner peace I own,
Something in my soul that they can not possess
So I won't be afraid and the darkness will fade

'Cause there's,
There's light in me me,
That shines brightly, yes
They can try,
But they can't take that away from me

No oh oh,
They can't take this
Precious love I'll always have inside me,
Certainly the Lord will guide me where I need to go

They can say
Anything they want to say,
Try to bring me down,
But I won't face the ground,
I will rise steadily sailing out of their reach,
Although they do try,
How to make me feel that I,
Don't matter at all,
But I refuse to fall,
Tell me what I believe or loose faith in my dreams,
'Cause there's a light in me,
That shines brightly yes

And ugh... I copied and pasted that from a Mariah site and it's full of typos... It wasn't me.... "loose faith in my dreams" :(

When you believe
Whitney Houston Featuring mariah carey

Many nights we prayed
With no proof anyone could hear
In our hearts a hope for a song
We barely understood
Now we are not afraid
Although we know theres much to fear
We were moving mountains
Long before we knew we could, whoa, yes
There can be miracles
When you believe
Though hope is frail
Its hard to kill
Who knows what miracles
You can achieve
When you believe somehow you will
You will when you believe
[mmmmmmmmmyeah]
Mmmyeah
In this time of fear
When prayer so often proves in vain
Hope seems like the summer bird
Too swiftly flown away
Yet now Iím standing here
My hearts so full, I cant explain
Seeking faith and speakin words
I never thought Iíd say
There can be miracles
When you believe (when you believe)
Though hope is frail
Its hard to kill (mmm)
Who knows what miracles
You can achieve (you can achieve)
When you believe somehow you will
You will when you believe
[hey]
[ooh]
They donít always happen when you ask
And itís easy to give in to your fears
But when youíre blinded by your pain
Canít see the way, get through the rain
A small but still, resilient voice
Says hope is very near, oh [oh]
There can be miracles (miracles)
When you believe (boy, when you believe, yeah) [though hope is frail]
Though hope is frail [its hard]
Its hard to kill (hard to kill, oh, yeah)
Who knows what miracles
You can achieve (you can achieve, oh)
When you believe somehow you will (somehow, somehow, somehow)
Somehow you will (I know, I know, know)
You will when you believe [when you]
(ohoh)
[you will when you]
(you will when you believe)
[oohoohooh]
[oh...oh]
[when you believe]
[when you believe]

i grew up on Whitney Houston amongst others and this is one of the most inspiring:

The Greatest Love Of All
Whitney Houston
(Whitney Houston)

I believe that children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be

Everybody's searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone to fulfill my needs
A lonely place to be
So I learned to depend on me

I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I will live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity

Chorus:
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be

That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love

Through a bizarre set of circumstances which I will not go into, I ended up at a Cyndi Lauper concert a few weeks ago. I was expecting it to be a goofy event to laugh about afterwards, but she proved to be a very giving and committed performer. Anyway, at a certain point she sang a simple song to which I had never really paid any attention. She spoke about her gay sister and a gay friend of hers who had died in the early years of the AIDS epidemic. And then she sang "True Colors" wrapped in the pride flag, and it was very moving:

You with the sad eyes
don't be discouraged
oh I realize
it's hard to take courage
in a world full of people
you can lose sight of it all
and the darkness inside you
can make you fell so small

But I see your true colors
shining through
I see your true colors
and that's why I love you
so don't be afraid to let them show
your true colors
true colors are beautiful
like a rainbow

Show me a smile then
don't be unhappy, can't remember
when I last saw you laughing
if this world makes you crazy
and you've taken all you can bear
you call me up
because you know I'll be there

And I'll see your true colors
shining through
I see your true colors
and that's why I love you
so don't be afraid to let them show

Remember The Tinman
Tracy Chapman

There are locks on the doors
And chains stretched across all the entries to the inside
There's a gate and a fence
And bars to protect from only God knows what lurks outside
Who stole your heart left you with a space
That no one and nothing can fill
Who stole your heart who took it away
Knowing that without it you can't live
Who took away the part so essential to the whole
Left you a hollow body
Skin and bone
What robber what thief who stole your heart and the key

Who stole your heart
The smile from your face
The innocence the light from your eyes
Who stole your heart or did you give it away
And if so then when and why
Who took away the part so essential to the whole
Left you a hollow body
Skin and bone
What robber what thief
Who stole your heart and the key

Now all sentiment is gone
Now you have no trust in no one

Who stole your heart
Did you know but forget the method and moment in time
Was it a trickster using mirrors and sleight of hand
A strong elixir or a potion that you drank
Who hurt your heart
Bruised it in a place
That no one and nothing can heal

You've gone to wizards, princes and magic men
You've gone to witches, the good the bad the indifferent
But still all sentiment is gone
But still you have no trust in no one

If you can tear down the walls
Throw your armor away remove all roadblocks barricades
If you can forget there are bandits and dragons to slay
And don't forget that you defend an empty space
And remember the tinman
Found he had what he thought he lacked
Remember the tinman
Go find your hear and take it back

Who stole your heart
Maybe no one can say
One day you will find it I pray

Another one that i like is this one:

Prince of Egypt Soundtrack Lyrics
Artist: K-Ci & JoJo Lyrics
Song: Through Heaven's Eyes Lyrics

A single thread in a tapestry
though its color brightly shines
can never see its purpose
in the pattern of the grand design
and the stone that sits up on the very top
of the mountain's mighty face
does it think that it's more important
than the stones that forms the base
So how can you see what your life is worth
or where your value lies
ohhhh, you can never see through the eyes of man
you must look at your life
look at your life through heaven's eyes
lai-la-lai...through heaven's eyes(2X)
A lake of gold in the desert sand
is less than a cool fresh spring
and to one lost sheep, a shepard boy
is greater than the richest king
should a man lose everything he owns
has he truly lost his worth
or is it the beginning
of a new and brighter birth
So how do you measure the worth of a man
in wealth or strength or size
in how much he gained or how much he gave
the answer will come to ya
to look at his life through heaven's eyes
lai-la-lai...through heaven's eyes(2X)
and that's why we share all we have with you
though there's little to be found
when all you've got is nothing
there's lots to go around
No life can escape being blown about
by the winds of change and chance
and though you never know all the steps
you must learn to join the dance
you must learn to join the dance
lai-la-lai...through heaven's eyes(repeat until fade)

...do you use? Mariah Carey's Hero, is simply one of the most beautiful songs ever writen and the message is so inspiring!!!! Mariah sings it flawlessly and I have an intense connection to this song. It's hard now being an adult, living on your own, having to pay your own bills and for me, having to compete for recognition in a large financial services firm...It can get to a person. I wake up every weekday morning and thank god for another day and ask him to give me the strength to overcome the days challenges and thank him for the desire to keep going. I tell myself that I am young and I have alot going for me and I am thankful and aware of people who are fighting far greater fights...:worship:

I listen to Hero many times when I get up and is getting dressed for work...during my commute, and maybe once or twice more when I get to work...It's one thing to understand inspiring words...You have to connect with them...If you go and listen to an inspirational speaker and you take in the words and understand them, you still wont get much out of them if you dont connect with them.

There's a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid
Of what you are
There's an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

It's a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself
And the emptiness you felt
Will disappear

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

Lord knows
Dreams are hard to follow
But don't let anyone
Tear them away
Hold on
There will be tomorrow
In time
You'll find the way

And then a hero comes along

Hero is an amazing song, great choice Cam :)

Another Mariah song is one of my choices

"Through The Rain"

When you get caught in the rain with no where to run
When you're distraught and in pain without anyone
When you keep crying out to be saved
But nobody comes and you feel so far away
That you just can't find your way home
You can get there alone
It's okay, what you say is
I can make it through the rain
I can stand up once again on my own
And I know that I'm strong enough to mend
And every time I feel afraid I hold tighter to my faith
And I live one more day and I make it through the rain
And if you keep falling down don't you dare give in
You will arise safe and sound, so keep pressing on steadfastly
And you'll find what you need to prevail
What you say is

I can make it through the rain
I can stand up once again on my own
And I know that I'm strong enough to mend
And every time I feel afraid I hold tighter to my faith
And I live one more day and I make it through the rain

And when the rain blows, as shadows grow close don't be afraid
There's nothing you can't face
And should they tell you you'll never pull through
Don't hesitate, stand tall and say

I can make it through the rain
I can stand up once again on my own
And I know that I'm strong enough to mend
And every time I feel afraid I hold tighter to my faith
And I live one more day and I make it through the rain

I can make it through the rain
And I live once again
And I live one more day
And I can make it through the rain
(Yes you can)
You will make it through the rain

And this one

"The Prayer" Celine Dion featuring Andrea Bocelli

I pray you'll be our eyes, and watch us where we go.
And help us to be wise in times when we don't know
Let this be our prayer, when we lose our way
Lead us to the place, guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe

La luce che tu hai
I pray we'll find your light
nel cuore restera
and hold it in our hearts.
a ricordarci che
When stars go out each night,
eterna stella sei

The light you have
I pray we'll find your light
will be in the heart
and hold it in our hearts.
to remember us that
When stars go out each night,
you are eternal star
Nella mia preghiera
Let this be our prayer
quanta fede c'e
when shadows fill our day

How much faith there's
Let this be our prayer
in my prayer
when shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

Sognamo un mondo senza piu violenza
un mondo di giustizia e di speranza
Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino
Simbolo di pace, di fraternita

We dream a world without violence
a world of justice and faith.
Everyone gives the hand to his neighbours
Symbol of peace, of fraternity
La forza che ci da
We ask that life be kind
e il desiderio che
and watch us from above
ognuno trovi amor
We hope each soul will find
intorno e dentro se
another soul to love

The force his gives us
We ask that life be kind
is wish that
and watch us from above
everyone finds love
We hope each soul will find
around and inside
another soul to love
Let this be our prayer
Let this be our prayer, just like every child

Need to find a place, guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
Need to find a place, guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

E la fede che
hai acceso in noi,
sento che ci salvera

It's the faith
you light in us
I feel it will save us

As Yet Untitled Lyrics
Terence Trent D'arby

Out by a shanty where the dust hangs high
Far from a river where things grow green
The flowers weep and they lean away
From the blood stained soil beneath my feet

The thorns outnumber the petals on the rose
And the darkness amplifies the sound of printers' ink
On propaganda page
That will rule your life and fuel my rage

I tried to bend my knees
But my knees were already bent
I haven't stood like a man for such a long time now
I called to my god but he was sleeping on that day
I guess I'll just have to depend on me

Shall I tell my children if they ask of me
Did I surrender forth my right to be?
Y'see my daddy died to leave this haunting ground
And this same ground still haunts me

The cool September blows the seeds away
The harvest blown again this year
But I'll return a stronger man
I'll return to me my homeland
No grave shall hold my body down
This land is still my home

I said:
But I'll return a stronger man
I'll return to me my homeland
No grave shall hold my body down
This land is still my home
This land is still my home

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world

I dont think anyone could sing to it without making a fool of themselves, unless you are mariah or whitney.
I know. Last year at our school talent show, this one sang it and she was trying so hard and getting so in to it but she wasn't any good! People were laughing at her but I felt so sorry for her! She kept going despite the heckling though :yeah:!

Stevie Wonder's "Loves In Need of Love" from Songs in the Key of Life.

"Imagine" and "In My Life" by Lennon/The Beatles

and I have a very weird one, "Dazz" by Brick...

...because on of my earliest childhood memories is my Mommy and Daddy dancing to that song. They've been "divorced" since '78 but whenever I hear that song...

...Mommy and Daddy are together and everything is right in the world.

i was abused as a kid for 8 years, so my song is this song by tracy just about healing and going through the hard process, i dont listen to like i used to but when i hear it it still just lifts me because i reminds me how far i have come and how much i have grown.

Remember The Tinman
Tracy Chapman

The song you mentioned is awesome. Tracy is one of the most under-rated song/story writers. Every song in that album was amazing.

And just to share with you (though it's a poem), the following has served me in many different occasions.... A toast to the new grown you!

After a While
By Veronica A. Shoffstall

After a while, you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts,
And presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open,
With the grace of a woman, not a grief of a child,
Because tomorrow's plan is too uncertain for plans,
And futures have a way of falling down on mid-flight.
And after a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong
And you really do have worth
And you learn and learn...
With every good-bye, you learn.

Beautiful
Christina Aguilera
Spoken
Don't look at me Every day is so wonderful
And suddenly, it's hard to breathe
Now and then, I get insecure
From all the fame, I'm so ashamed

I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring me down
So don't you bring me down today

To all your friends, you're delirious
So consumed in all your doom
Trying hard to fill the emptiness
The piece is gone and the puzzle undone
That's the way it is

You are beautiful no matter what they say
Words won't bring you down
You are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words won't bring you down
Don't you bring me down today...

No matter what we do
(no matter what we do)
No matter what they say
(no matter what they say)
When the sun is shining through
Then the clouds won't stay
And everywhere we go
(everywhere we go)
The sun won't always shine
(sun won't always shine)
But tomorrow will find a way
All the other times

We are beautiful no matter what they say
Yes, words won't bring us down
We are beautiful no matter what they say
Yes, words can't bring us down
Don't you bring me down today

Don't you bring me down today
Don't you bring me down today

My Saving Grace

Iíve still got a lot to learn
But, at least I know where I can turn
When Iím in my times of need
Just as long
(as I know all things are possible)
Just as long as I believe

Iíve loved a lot, hurt a lot
Been burned a lot in my life and times
Spent precious years wrapped up in fear
With no end in sight
Until my saving grace shined on me
Until my saving grace set me free

Giving me peace
Giving me strength when iíd
Almost lost it all
Catching my every fall
I still exist because you keep me safe
I found my saving grace within you

Yes, Iíve been bruised
Grew up confused
Been destitute
Iíve seen life from many sides
Been stigmatized
Been black and white
Felt inferior inside
Until my saving grace shined on me
Until my saving grace set me free

Giving me peace
Giving me strength when iíd
Almost lost it all
Catching my every fall
I still exist because you keep me safe
I found my saving grace within you

And the bountiful things that you do
Lord thank you
For delivering me

And giving me peace
Giving me strength
Giving me hope when iíd
Almost lost it all
Catching my every fall
I still exist because you keep me safe
Always my saving grace
Pulls me through
I found my saving grace within you

(yes you are - youíre my every, everything)
Within you...
(only, only you)
Yes lord
(only you)
My saving grace lord is
You

Yolanda Adams - Open My Heart

I've been listening to this song since I was 13.

[Verse 1]
Alone in a room
It's just me and you
I feel so lost
'Cause I don't know what to do
Now what if choose the wrong thing to do
I'm so afraid, afraid of disappointing you

[Chorus]
So I need to talk to you
And ask you for your guidance
Especially today
When my life is so cloudy
Guide me until I'm sure
I open up my heart

[Verse 2]
My hopes and dreams
Are fading fast
I'm all burned out
And I don't think my strenghts gonna last
So I'm crying out
Crying out to you
Lord I know that you're the only one
Who is able to pull me through

[Chorus]
So I need to talk to you
And ask you for your guidance
Especially today
When my life is so cloudy
Guide me until I'm sure
I open up my heart

[Bridge]
So show me how
To do things your way
Don't let me make the same mistakes
Over and over again
Your will be done
And I'll be the one
To make sure the it's carried out
And in me, I don't want any doubt
That's why...

[Chorus]
I need to talk to you
And ask you for your guidance
Especially today
When my life is a little bit cloudy
Guide me until I'm sure
I open up my heart

[Chorus 2]
All I need to do
Is hear a single word from you
I open up my heart
Just one word could make
A difference in what I do Lord
I open my heart to you

You're the lover of my soul
Captain of my sea
I need a word from you
That's why I open up my heart

"Where is the Love", Celine Dion

If ever a boy stood on the moon
All the heavens would call them angels 'round
Stop the tears from troubled sky's....from
Falling...falling...falling.

If ever the river could whisper your name,
Would the choices you made still be the same?
Like a flower that dies from angry rain,
Why do we hurt ourselves?

Where is the love that lets the sunlight in to start again?
The love that sees no color lines?
Life begins with love,
So spread your wings & fly,
Guide your spirit safe & sheltered,
A thousand dreams that we can still believe.

If ever a boy stood on the moon,
Carrying all of his treasures from the stars
To a rainbow which leads to where we are.
Together we'd chase the sun.

Where is the love that lifts my brother's voice to the skies?
The love that answers a mother's cry?
Life begins with love,
So spread your wings & fly,
Guide your spirit safe & sheltered.
A thousand dreams that we can still believe.

A boy stood on the moon
The ancient souls can still discover
A thousand dreams that we can still believe
That we can still believe
We can still believe
We can still believe

REM "Everybody Hurts"

When the day is long and the night, the night is yours alone,
When youíre sure youíve had enough of this life, well hang on
Donít let yourself go, everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes

Sometimes everything is wrong. now itís time to sing along
When your day is night alone, (hold on, hold on)
If you feel like letting go, (hold on)
When you think youíve had too much of this life, well hang on

ícause everybody hurts. take comfort in your friends
Everybody hurts. donít throw your hand. oh, no. donít throw your hand
If you feel like youíre alone, no, no, no, you are not alone

If youíre on your own in this life, the days and nights are long,
When you think youíve had too much of this life to hang on

Well, everybody hurts sometimes,
Everybody cries. and everybody hurts sometimes
And everybody hurts sometimes. so, hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Everybody hurts. you are not alone

Great, isn't it!!!

Here is one of my new fave songs...Amazing stuff from R. Kelly (despite what he is ACCUSED of)

3-Way Phone Call featuring Kelly Price, Kim Burrell and Maurice Mahon
R. Kelly:
Hello

Kelly Price:
Hey little brother

R. Kelly:
Hey sis how you doing?

Kelly Price:
Fine, what's going on with you?

R. Kelly:
Oh nothing much

Kelly Price:
Got your message from earlier this afternoon
And something just didn't sound right
And so I'm calling you back to check on you
How you holding up?

R. Kelly:
Oh everything is fine

Kelly Price:
You know I don't believe you

R. Kelly:
Whatcha saying? You think I'm lying?

Kelly Price:
I'm not saying it, but I know you

R. Kelly:
How you know me?

Kelly Price:
Cause you're my brother
And therefore I can tell
When something is troubling you

R. Kelly:
Ok Ok, I give you that
Nothing's wrong, I take that back
There is something on my mind
But sis, I don't want to waste your time

Kelly Price:
But I done told you time and time again
Whatever you're going through
You can come and talk to me
And I will say a prayer with you

R. Kelly:
But I done prayed and prayed night and day
I still can't seem to find my way

Kelly Price:
Rob that ain't nothing but the devil telling you
That you're washed up and you're through
But sister's here to let you know
Boy you're gonna make it through

R. Kelly:
Sister, do you really believe that I can rise again

Kelly Price:
Yes, and not only that, Rob, God will forgive you for your sins

R. Kelly:
Can you tell me what to do?

Kelly Price:
Well first you gotta believe the truth

R. Kelly:
Sometimes it's hard to believe in Him

Kelly Price:
That's okay because he believes in you

The winds, the rain
The storm
The weapons that are formed against us (I will survive)
The trying times
The sleepless nights
Just know that faith is with us (and I believe yeah)
Through all of the hills
And valleys roamed
That we must come to (woah)
Walk side by side
Follow the light
And we'll make it through (We'll make it through yeah)

R. Kelly:
So, so what you're saying is believe a little more?

Kelly Price:
Yes, cause faith is the key that will opens up the door

R. Kelly:
What you're saying to me, it's hard to receive
Especially when trouble follows me

Kelly Price:
When we're keeping it real
Robert sometimes
Trouble can follow where you lead

R. Kelly:
Yes sister, I know sometimes, but I...

Kelly Price:
Just wait, let me make a phone call

R. Kelly:
To who?

Kelly Price:
A prayer buddy of mine
She can help you tear down your walls

R. Kelly:
I don't want nobody in my business

Kelly Price:
She's a friend
And besides you need this

R. Kelly:
You know how church folk can be

Kelly Price:
Boy I'm your sister, trust in me

R. Kelly:
Mmm

Kelly Price:
Now hold on

R. Kelly:
Maybe she's gone...

Kelly Price:
No

R. Kelly:
Maybe we ought to just try...

Maurice Mahon:
Hello

Kelly Price:
Shh shh, hello, is Kim there?

Maurice Mahon:
Yes, I think she's around here somewhere
Hold on

Kelly Price:
Now you just let me do the talking

R. Kelly:
Mmm hmm

Kim Burrell:
Hello?

Kelly Price:
Hey girl, how you doing?

Kim Burrell:
Hey Kelly

Kelly Price:
My little brother's on the line and needed advice from you

Kim Burrell:
Ooh what can I do for you?
Hello?

Kelly Price:
Go ahead Rob, she's talking to you

R. Kelly:
Oh, well, I know you must be very busy
So I'm not going to mess around, nah
Just telling my sister how my life is upside down
And I don't know whether I'm going left or right half the time
Sometimes think I'm gonna lose my mind, you feel me?

Kim Burrell:
Mmm hmm... similar to what I used to go through

R. Kelly:
Really?

Kim Burrell:
Yes, and sometimes I still do

R. Kelly:
Yeah?

Kim Burrell:
See it doesn't matter who you are
Or where you're from
If you struggle, God will use you

Kelly Price:
Amen sister, what you're saying is so true
Rob are you there?

R. Kelly:
Yes, I'm just listening to the both of you
It's so easy to say, but not so easy to do

Kim Burrell:
Yes but if you stand the truth
It will free you

R. Kelly:
Oh

Kim Burrell:
Just stand strong

Kelly Price:
Stand strong

Kim Burrell:
With your head held high

Kelly Price:
With your head held high

Kim Burrell:
Said it wont be long
In time he will provide

R. Kelly:
Will he?

Kelly Price:
Yes he will

Kim Burrell:
You just stay in the race

Kelly Price:
Just stay in the race

Kim Burrell:
And keep on running

Kelly Price:
And down to the end

Kim and Kelly:
Cause your day is coming

The winds, the rain
The storm
The weapons that are formed against us
The trying times
The sleepless nights
Just know that faith is with us
Through all of the hills
And valleys roamed
That we must come to
Walk side by side
Follow the light
And we'll make it through

Kelly Price:
He'll give you peace
In the midst of your storm

R. Kelly:
Sometimes I feel like it's too late for me

Kelly Price:
But he'll never leave you

Kim Burrell:
No way

Kelly Price:
You just gotta hang on

Kim Burrell:
Hang on

Kelly Price:
Robert say a prayer, keep your head
God will do just what he said

R. Kelly:
Finally I think I get it

Kelly Price:
Yes, that's it
That's the spirit

The winds, the rain
The storm
The weapons that are formed against us
The trying times
The sleepless nights
Just know that faith is with us
Through all of the hills
And valleys roamed
That we must come to
Walk side by side
Follow the light
And we'll make it through
The winds, the rain
The storm
The weapons that are formed against us
The trying times
The sleepless nights
Just know that faith is with us
Through all of the hills
And valleys roamed

Walk side by side
