I have a stray cat that lives outside of my house since birth. I was trying to get her in a cage to take to the vet to be fixed and get her shots....She scratched the shit out of me and bit me good (I have like 5 vampire marks on my arrm). I know she doesn't have rabbies and can trap her with a trap if I borrow one but is there anything I need to do medical wise for me besides cleaning the wounds good.

well if you know she doesn't have rabbies, then being up on your tetanus is the best thing. and keep your wounds clean, like you're doing :)

i'm not sure if you need to worry about it, but do you know if she has any worms?

She probably has the basic worms but I took one of them to the vet and he didn't have the "bad" worms or whatever. I'm still trying to get her in the cage. :(

Or you could just get your cats inside...I'm very against animals living outside.

it's not her cat by the sounds of it. she is just trying to be nice to the cat because it lives outside her house by the sounds of it. why would it scratch her like that unless it was her cat?

sweetie, I have 3 cats that are mine and live in the house. These cats are strays that just decided to take up at my house. I was trying to catch the mommy before she has another litter and get her fixed but she wouldn't come home so I was settling for the daughter since my sister wants to try to completely tame her and keep her in her house. :tears:

I settled for Buster, the cat's brother who has been trying to move into my house for a while. He gets to sleep in the bathroom tonight on the way to get his balls snipped tomorrow morning.

correct!

What actually happened is the mother cat was being fed by some older people in apts behind my house. The city came and trapped them and took them to the pound. The old people came and begged my mother to go to the pound and say the cats were hers because they couldn't have pets where they lived. My mother calls me at work begging me to go to the pound to get the cats.

I do. They give us the food cause they can't feed them on the property. So who had to end up buying food? Moi. Well as soon as the mother started getting food on the regular she promptly pops out six kittens.

This is why we are now on a mission to get a couple of them fixed a month. It's just not working out easily.

Next time, try not rolling in tuna before trying to pick her up ;)

Seriously, you could try using one of those human squirrel traps and baiting it with cat food. I'm with Infiniti on this one - you're a good soul for trying.

Jess was in the army during WW2, but I don't think he did animal cuts and bites. Plus, our divorce really ended on a bitter and sour note in the 1950's and we no longer spoke, and then he bit the dust in 1989, so I think me asking him for advice here isn't in the cards.
