It's an Ovation award but hey it's been a while. I'll take any hardware I can get!

Viola Davis, Linda Emond and Sally Struthers are among the actors nominated for the 2004 annual Los Angeles Ovation Awards. Directors Daniel Sullivan and Baz Luhrmann were also acknowledged for their West Coast stagings of recent New York hits Intimate Apparel and La Bohème.

The ceremony this year will again be held at the Orpheum Theatre on Broadway in the downtown Los Angeles historic theatre district, Nov. 14. The peer-judged Ovation Awards, established in 1989, honor "artistic excellence of L.A.’s theatres and theatre artists, and their continuing contribution to the vibrant cultural scene."

Congrats, Sal!!!!! Way to go. You're in like Flynn, babe, Fontaine's one that "peer board" so I'll call her, it's a lock. Not that you need me to call, I'm sure they would never vote for anyone else. They also need you as a winner to boost their award's imagine. Just get a fab outfit for the event, Sal, you owe it to yourself.

Great news Sal. Who are you up against? If you need anyone 'removed' from the list, let me know.

I just puked over my monitor when I read this Hel..

"...Could this be the year that Jennifer Lopez gets her first Oscar nomination? She co-stars with Robert Redford in two-time Oscar nominee Lasse Hallstrom's "An Unfinished Life." It's about a down-on-her-luck single mom's efforts to make peace with her father-in-law... "

If she gets a nomination before me I'll kill myself! WTF :fiery:
You've got to make sure that doesn't happen!

OMG!!!
Sally dear, if J Lo gets a nomination the Oscars will be nothing but a JOKE from now on. How can they seriously consider nominating her, it has to be a joke.
Probably their next announcement is that Ben is going to get the Oscar for best male lead for Daredevil 2.

Oh God Hel, surely the waxworks won't let this happen! Tomei is one thing, but this could bring down the Oscars altogether.

No way. There's still a Hollywood Blacklist. It's no longer commies or tattlers. These days it's people who embarass the industry. They can't get nominated, it's impossible, don't ask me to explain, they'd have me "taken care of" if I talked. But there's a list, it includes J Lo. The only other person I can slip to you who's on the list is Demi Moore.

Well how do you explain Roman Polanski's win a couple years ago? Was Michael Jackson on the commitee?

You know Hollywood, Sal, being a child rapist is fine as long as you're talented.

If Mary Kay LeTourneau could have done Monster like Charlize Theron, they'd have given her an Oscar in a second.
