no american sitcom compares. i feel sick when i hear statements saying a show like friends is the greastest comedy ever - what crap. i was walking in the park today and that eposide where the women at elaine's work thought her name was suzzie came into my head "thanks suzzie" - how they developed that was just brilliant

Yeah it is an awesome show but has a bit to go to catch Seinfeld. Seinfeld has a better cast going for it over Curb as well. Larry is hysterical and Jeff is humorous but they are the primary generators of laughs. In Seinfeld you got laughs from everyone, plus I just loved Jerry's horrible acting that made him come off as slightly bemused by all of it. Plus, I'm not a real fan of Cheryl.

One thing I am 100% positive of is that Larry David is the definitive comidic writer of this era.

i didn't really like the first season cheryl, but she's much better in the third. there are some episodes where she is almost as crass as larry.

you're right, seinfeld has better casting. i think CYE is improving in that area too.

but the fact that CYE is uncensored makes up for it.

i loved the second season episode when cheryl's family comes over for christmas...

You are ahead of me cause I don't have HBO so I'm only as far as they are with the DVDs, that being second season.

There is just something about her that bugs me. I can't really explain it.

I love the show despite that though, especially the constant cringe factor that it has thanks to Larry. The one that comes to mind the most is the **** episode. Hysterical.

"Judaism, where are you??"

seinfeld was more my parents' and older sisters' thing, but i still crack a smile at the 'close-talker.'

especially since vincent dinofrio offered his own rendition on 'law and order: criminal inten' that i like to call: close-talking psycho-babble.

I didn't think Seinfeld was all that funny. The only one that gave me a smile was Kramer. THat's one funny character.

George was the best. Remember the Twix ephisode? the poor guy.... all he wanted was a twix and he never got one!

That's "low-talker." ;)

The show is easily the best show ever. Too many great episodes to remember.

We have "CARTWRIGHT" in the Chinese restaurant.

We have the Soup Nazi, the Bubble Boy, Babu (sp?), the poppyseed episode, Elaine dancing, Kenny Rogers, and on and on it goes.

What about 'The Contest'? Best episode ever? It has to be one of the best. The writing was great and they never used the word 'masturbation', it was just hinted at and then at the end you still don't know who won! I loved it when Kramer was out of the contest after about 10 minutes

I was in New York in March and stayed at a hotel on East 54th Street and the Soup Nazi shop was on the same street with pictures of Seinfeld outside :)
