According to the Belgian newspaper " Het Nieuwsblad" her doctors gave her green to play again :)
A scanner showed she was completely healed!
She would play in Hasselt and in Moscow.

The same article also says that the WTA makes her play Moscow. If she doesn't, she'll be fined 25.000 dollar. If she doesn't have a good reason, it's even 50.000 dollar

This means she's committed to playing 4 weeks in a row: Hasselt, Filderstadt, Moscow & Zurich  . Quite a lot for someone coming back from injury.

On the other hand, perhaps she expects a couple of early exits. After all, every player struggles after a long layoff. Why would it be different for Kim?

I try not to expect too much, so every good result will be a bonus ;) :). I'm just glad she's finally coming back :D.

Maybe she'll go and lose first round in Moscow...so she can have a break! ;) Coz 4 weeks in a row is pretty tough when she hasn't played half the year!

Great news! I don't know what we can expect from her in her first tournaments, I'm just gonna enjoy seeing her play again. Now in case she does really well in Hasselt and Filderstadt, then I really hope she doesn't play in Moscow and just pays the fine.

THAT WAS EXACTLY MY POINT!!!
I reacted to Per4ever who suggested that if Kim would win Hasselt, it would again be because of a cakewalk draw...

Good to see her coming back. On eurosport the commentator also said that they saw her practicing a little bit at the USO.

I am really interested to see how well she can do after such a long break.

That's disgusting. Out of principle she should refuse to play Moscow and don't pay them a dime if she's fined. Who do they think they are?

I think it's really pathetic! She's just coming back from injury and they are forcing her to play. It's like they want her to be injured again :fiery:

Every top player in tennis has her own unique part to play... I know some have described kim as a little on the 'bland' side, but you have to admit she does add something special to the tour. I think of all the top players she's the most under-rated. I'd like nothing more than to see kim reasert herself as force not to be taken lightly. Unfortunately with long delays there's usually a few early round losses and some rust that needs to come off before things get back to normal. Best of luck to Kim...

May 2005 be the year(s) of SERENA WILLIAMS and Kim Clijsters...
