Tier III Sep 13 Bali ...................... INA
Tier II_ Sep 20 Beijing ................... CHN
Tier III Sep 27 Hasselt ...... BEL
Tier III Sep 27 Guangzhou ................. CHN
Tier IV_ Sep 27 Seoul ..................... KOR
Tier II_ Oct 04 Filderstadt .. GER
Tier III Oct 04 Tokyo ..................... JPN
Tier I__ Oct 11 Moscow ....... RUS
Tier IV_ Oct 11 Tashkent ..... UZB
Tier I__ Oct 18 Zurich ....... SUI
Tier II_ Oct 25 Linz ......... GER
Tier III Oct 25 SEAT ......... LUX

Tier II_ Nov 01 Philadelphia . USA
Tier III Nov 01 Quebec City .. CAN

Of allthe players witha chance to make the YEC, only Clijsters and Dementieva opted to take easy points at Hasselt, as opposed to fighting it out at Filderstadt. Or maybe they are ADDING those easy points to Filderstadt.

Only Myskina and Kuznetsova are scheduled to play Linz.
Nobody's taking easy points at SEAT.

I find myself wondering if Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova and jennifer Capriati actually want to play the YEC. Filderstadt, Moscow, Zurich could result in early exits.

Maria's playing a Tier I, II, III and IV. Go Masha!!!Uh.. forget what i said about Sharapova not wanting to make the YEC if she's playing THAT much. Looks like the USTA might not have Venus OR Jenn. Maybe the WTA will hire professional for the marketing this year.
I understand that the answer to this is 'apparently not'. But are Venus and/or Serena Williams THAT necessary to ticket sales? if you have Mykina, Sharapova, Dementieva and Mauresmo, SHOULDN'T you be able to market enough on sex to fill whatever the hell place it is in LA they play the YEC? Or did they regain their senses and buy out that contract? They're only coming out to see their own in LA in November. not Japanese ( though you never know withtheLeft Coast and Japan), not Russian, not Russian-'American', not Black-American, not White American, not Gay-America. CELEBRITY-American.

A Jenn-Maria final MIGHT sell-out. But I wouldn't bet the money for my mother's heart operation on it.

^_^ I just hope she has good results... good enough to put her in the 8! It would be an impressive result for having a limited shedule!

Her events in oreder are Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo and Zurich.

K-Lina's playing like 5 straight weeks... she has a very outside chance to do it. But I won't count her out at this point.

Well technically Mauresmo and Davenport could opt out to play the rest of the season because they've already qualified... I think a lot of the girls are wishing that would happen so they would have a better chance to go further in the indoor tournaments :)

Paola Suarez, who is in 12th place, is about 400 points behind Vera, who is about 150 points behind Venus and she has little chance of making the cut.

The only people who have a chance to go the YEC are (in order of point totals are):

Svetlana (likely to make the cut)
Anastasia (same as Svetlana)
Justine (same as Svetlana)
Elena (most likely will make the cut if she has solid results for the rest of the year)
Jennifer (could miss the cut if Maria or Venus have solid results or tournament win for the rest of the year)
Serena (small chance of not making it, but will if she has solid results for the rest of the year)
Maria (must do well (and better than Venus and Jennifer) in the fall to make the cut)
Venus (see Maria, but substitute Maria's name for Venus)
Vera (outside chance of makint the cut, but will not if Venus and Maria play better than her in the fall)
