She only has 92 points to defend for the rest of the year, so she definitely has a chance to move up.

I think she's 11-12 against the current top 15 but i'm not positive, someone else can check that.

No, I don't think so.

#5, yes... but she'd have to outplay Lena D first.

Could anyone tell me when/if Myskina would be number 1. I don't really understand alot of this ranking stuff

I don't really understand alot of this ranking stuff  It's pretty much not going to happen for her now...Her best chance was this summer and into ths US Open. But that didn't work out, and now she has way too many points to defend this fall...

Ok, but if she only has 92 points to defend for the rest of the year and is only around 1500 points from the #1 spot then I dont see how she cannot have at least a chance to become #1.

Can someone show me her tourney results from last year and so far from this year. I want to see who all she has beaten last year and this year. Thanks.

True, but the players above Kuznetsova are going to be playing too so there points will go up too.

I don't think she can get to #1. Did you see her schedule for the next month or so? LOL

One year ago, Sveta was losing in qualies. Now she's #6 in the world. I don't expect her to reach #1 this fall, but next year, she'll be up there. Or close by.

Here are the top 8 in the race to the championships (including todays results):

1 Lindsay Davenport 3967
2 Amelie Mauresmo 3386
3 Svetlana Kuznetsova 2987
4 Anastasia Myskina 2982
5 Justine Henin-Hardenne 2884
6 Elena Dementieva 2707
7 Jennifer Capriati 2300
8 Serena Williams 2273

Seeing that Kuznetsova is scheduled to play Beijing, Filderstadt, Moscow, Zurich, Linz, Philadelphia (basically everything), she does have a chance of ending this year as number 1.
