LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Pop star Jessica Simpson (news (http://us.rd.yahoo.com/DailyNews/celeb/*http://news.search.yahoo.com/search/news?fr=news-storylinks&p=%22Jessica%20Simpson%22&c=&n=20&yn=c&c=news&cs=nw)) has been cast as Daisy Duke in the big-screen remake of "The Dukes of Hazzard," a project that essentially marks her feature film debut.

Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville already had been cast as Bo and Luke Duke, respectively, in the Warner Bros. project. Jay Chandrasekhar is directing. A start date has not yet been set.

The series, which ran on CBS from 1979 to 1985, followed the weekly adventures of southern cousins Bo and Luke -- "just two good ol' boys, never meaning no harm," according to the Waylon Jennings theme song -- who raised hell driving their souped-up Dodge Charger, the General Lee, in fictional Hazzard County. They, along with their cousin Daisy and Uncle Jesse, staged running battles with the corrupt authorities, Boss Hogg and Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane.

Pop star Simpson shot to fame when her marital misadventures with fellow singer and husband, Nick Lachey (news (http://us.rd.yahoo.com/DailyNews/celeb/*http://news.search.yahoo.com/search/news?fr=news-storylinks&p=%22Nick%20Lachey%22&c=&n=20&yn=c&c=news&cs=nw)), aired on MTV's "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica." She has played herself in countless TV appearances and had a guest starring run on "That '70s Show." On the big screen, she played herself in the 2002 feature "The Master of Disguise."

Just what we need to see... poor white trash on the big screen riding around with the dumbest woman on earth.

I can only hope it flops, it looks like it will. Why do we have to endure this woman?

At the Governor's Ball earlier this year, Joan Fontaine told me this really disgusting joke about Jessica Simpson and her "chicken of the sea" quip. I mean, I've heard some sailor jokes from her before, but this really took the whole cake. I can't repeat it on a family board like this, but it was one of Joan's cruder jokes, and that's saying something.

Hon, I think the "second coming of Mamie Van Doren" would offend Mamie, and trust me, LITTLE offends Mamie.

Take a look! www.mamievandoren.com (http://www.mamievandoren.com)

Hel, Iím speechless. And I thought Sylvia Miles, Sandy Dennis and Joan Hackett were off their rocker but she doesnít hold a candle to Mamie.

I see Mamie is going to vote for Kerry this election day. ;) That means she has to have more of a brain than Jessica Simpson who's all for Bush.

Actually, I think that Daisy Duke is a good role for Jessica. And Jessica actually has some talent!

I need some of these Hollywood insiders to keep me updated on the news around town about Angelina Jolie. And also when in the hell is that picture coming out 'Mr and Mrs Smith" the one that also starred Brad Pitt?

The last I heard Angelina is working on some Love and Honor movie where she plays Catherine the Great.

I volunteered for the United Nations cause, but I haven't heard anything back from them yet. I'm willing to give up 3 good years of this nice living I have in the US, to go help others. Don't they understand what a good heart I have? ;)

Private Plane, well there's an airport just a few miles from my home where a friend of mine taught me to fly (never got a pilots license thou). She could come land in that airport anytime she wants. I could go help her pick out a cute little Russian baby, that we could raise into a hockey player. :hehehe:

Thanks Sally :hugs:

No, I like helping people and lets just put it this way. If these morons elect Bush for President, I'm going to find away to live abroad for the next 4 years, as I can't take Georgie W anymore. Besides, as little as our Government does to help people, I'd like the world to see not all American's are bad.... Only the Georgie supporters are the idiot few.

You don't exactly count Barrie, you don't live in the US, and you don't vote. ;)
So I'm not blaming you for who they put in office.

I'm just saying I might try living abroad a few years if he does indeed get back in office. It might be Canada, Mexico, or Europe if I could possibly convince the wife to go.
