Well, actually it's a minor bug, but still it IS one, because it doesn't make sense at all. And it has been bothering me for quite a while now. :p

These are the bonus points for beating a top 5 player:

No.5 - 50
No.4 - 55
No.3 - 66
No.2 - 75
No.1 - 100

As you can see, the points difference increases from 5 (between no.5 and no.4) to 25 (between No.2 and No.1). This makes sense.
So you would expect the same to happen between the other numbers.
But NO!
From No.4 to No.3, it's 11 points, but from No.3 to No.2 it's 9 points all of the sudden. :cuckoo:

This is just wrong. No.3 should be worth 63 points, then you would have differences of 5, 8, 12 and 25. That would make sense.
Instead we have 5, 11, 9 and 25. God knows why.

And yes, there are far worse problems in the world.

You are right there is no sense. Why is number 3 more nearly number 2 than number 4 is nearly number 3 - its completely arbitary. 100-80-70-60-50 would make more sense.

In the present situation 100 90 85 80 75 70 would be appropriate but going down in 10s would be logical.

You could also have "relative" Quality Points -- each player's quality points is a percentage of #1's based on the percentage of #1's total points she has.

This just proves that people at the WTA most of the time just randomly award points to things.

And with that sentence, I could be head of the WTA myself ;)

Great idea. :yeah: Send it to the WTA. ;)
