Yeah, so something has been bugging me for a while now. I was wondering if there should be more grasscort tournaments, out there. There are currently loads of clay and hard court tournaments yet only Wimbledon, Queen's, Halle, Nottingham, s-Hertogenbosch and Newport on the main ATP tour - surely thats unfair to all the grass court players. It's no wonder the serve-volleyer is dying out. What do you all think then, should there be more grass court events in the year?

Plus it is bad for all of the kings and queens of this era of tennis. Graf, Hingis, Serena, Navratilova, Agassi, Samprass, Courier, Connors, and now the two new kings and queens Rodger Federer, and Maria Sharapova. Those two are invincible on grass, and may even surprass Graf and Sampras, as the kings of grass. Plus grass courts are the coolest. I think it's unfair for their to be so many clay tournaments, and hardcourt tournaments, but not enough grass tournaments.

With more grass tournaments, imagine the possibilities of new styles of tennis, new moves, and many new players picking up the game, tougher competition, greater tournaments, cooler matches, return of the dieing forms, ie Buggy Whip Shot, 1 footed split step, Slam Dunk, Serve and Volley, etc. Plus it's only fair to the tennis world. It's not fair to the people who are specially good at grass, to have only a few grass tournaments.

Plus, Grass is the home of the Championships, Wimbledon, which is a more famous Grand Slam than Us Open as it's been around the longest. Plus all of the classic matches, Graf/Navratilova, Navratilova/Evert, Capriati/Seles, Davenport/Venus, Conners/Courier, Agassi/Samprass, and Federer/Roddick all happened with Wimbledon. Imagine all of the rivalries we could build. Tennis would be more exciting and cooler, with Hewit/Agassi rivalries, Sharapova/ Williams Sisters, Federer/Santoro, Rusedski/Safin, Sharapova/Zvonareva, Maruesmo/Henin Hardenne, etc.

It's also unfair to have the most famous grandslam of all time, to have the fewest number of tournaments with the same surface. Anyways, what are your views on this?

Your opinion isn't based on the fact that Maria is good on grass, is it?

To answer your question. Yes, there definitely should be more grasscourt tournaments, for the reasons that you have mentioned.

Yes more grasscourt and less hardcourt. I think also we need longer grass season this means Wimblendon have to move from late June/early July to late July/ early August but i think ia good tennis wise because at the moment the gap between Roland Garros and Wimblendon is too norrow. So it will be good for tennis players as well as fans like us. :)

The asian tour should be made the grass court season, it's too much like the US as it stands now, it needs some variety to get higher quality players and grass should have more tournaments, the perfect combination

There is going to be an extra week between Roland Garros and Wimbledon from 2006 (I think) so hopefully we'll see 1, maybe 2 more grasscourt events.

Of course there should be more tournies on grass. Actually, I think there should be the same nb of tournies on each surface but this is unlikely to happen one day...

I'd love to see the Aussie tournaments turn to grasscourt events! That would be so cool! Grass is the original and the best.
