In the bottom half of this years US Open all seeds are through. Does anyone know when was the last time this happened?

Seeds through:

#2 Mauresmo
#3 S. Williams
#6 Dementieva
#8 Capriati
#10 Zvonareva
#12 Sugiyama
#15 Schnyder
#16 Schiavone

Well it means the creme de la creme fight it out.

Suarez is out so all 16 seeds can't go through - as is Myskina - but it looks like the other 14 could - so 14/16 top seeds could go to the Round of 16

The bottom half is 1000x easier than the top half though

yeah good.

top half = rusty defending champ; #4 seed gone; #7 seed gone; #14 seed gone; out of form venus. the top half is basically davenport.

bottom half = all seeds through

i think 1000x might be a bit of an stretch
