Just got word that the J & S Cup in Warsaw is no longer happening. Apparently administrative costs are to high. Bratislava has been chosen to replace that event in may. Bratislava has a new tennis centre with a capacity of 7000 with a retractable roof. Tournament to be called VUB Open. The event scheduled for october has been cancelled due to next years commitments.
Go Dani

Keeping you up to date with the 2005 schedule.

this person already tricked us all with a fake schedule before. If I were you I wouldn't believe it too much ;)

Is this the stadium they used for the Slovakia-United States Davis Cup tie last fall?

I had never seen an indoor clay court stadium before watching the televised matches. It looked real nice.

This is really spooky  - here's something I wrote on one of Daniela's websites 4 days ago, before I heard this news -

As for dreams, I'd like to go to more tournaments in Europe, like Berlin, Filderstadt, Linz, Warsaw etc, but what would really be the greatest would be if Danka played in Bratislava. I would just love to be there with thousands of her fans, but sadly, that may never happen.
Looks like my dreams may come true sooner than I realised

Spooky!!

Wasnt there a T5 held last year? I thought it's cancelled this year.....
Anyways, jumping into high tier status is kinda fast, and they didnt even do it when Dani was in top 10.
Not to mention it was an indoor tournament that was held there, not clay, doesnt make much sense:).

And i don't see how tournament in may can be indoors it can't be, tournies before RG are outdoor clay...
After this yesrs edition of J&S Cup they were talking about maybe moving tournament to another city or coutry but still same J&S sponsor and name not VUB Open.

with capacity 7000ppl and with moving roof
