If the Venus who played the second set plays like this on Saturday, I see Venus winning in straight sets, but if the Venus of the first set shows up, it might be like 2002. Venus will be able to handle Chanda's serve becasue she was able to get winners off of Uberoi's serve and she was serving in the 110's. I don't think Chanda can serve like that.

I think Venus could win, but Chanda has the talent to pull off an upset.

We all will see I like venus to win but if she lose I'm ok with that too.....Chanda don't have what venus have so.......I know Chanda will come out fighting like she always does when she plays a Williams nothing new......................

This could be an awesome match. I'm pulling for Venus and I have a feeling she will win in two tough sets. There will be some great points, and it'll be a night match (I hope).

Good luck Venus :)

giving her great fights and she's done
well on the big points and I'm excited for
this match-up with Chanda and expect a
very hard fought match!

Chanda Rubin will defeat Venus Williams in 2 close sets.

Dunno, Chanda is a streaky player, at any given day she can be extreamly dominant, on the other hand on any given day she can play some ugly tennis, but either way i see venus prevailing in 2

You all may think this is the all rides on Venus. I disagree. If Chanda of today shows up end lost 6-1 6-2. However if Chanda of the first round shows up she'll definetely give Venus a run for a money.

Oh, and by the way for the people that say if the Venus of 2002 shows up it will be tough. Maybe you didn't reallize but Venus had reached a slam final before that and won a bunch of titles on hard courts. Also when they interviewed her after their match when it was 6-2 4-6 7-5, she said that is was all CHANDA who gave her that first set and she really started to play well in the 2nd and 3rd. AND LET'S ALL NOT FORGET if Ms. Chanda-Choke Rubin hadn't shown up at 5-5 15-40, Chanda could have easily won that match.

The thing that struck me about venus's match tonight is that the venus we have seen most of this year would have lost that first set and then played sharper the next two sets for the win. But the venus tonight stepped up her serve and her groundstrokes and pulled it together when she needed to. Hopefully that is a sign up and this match will tell us a lot about if venus is in fact improving. An on venus or a little below her best level will beat Chanda in straights not losing more than 7 games. An off Venus will allow Chanda to take it to three sets and may even lose. So this match will be the first real way to judge how Venus is playing. I pick venus in straight 7-5, 6-2.

All Chanda has to do is get venus in a tiebreak - and we know what will happen then.

I don't know who will win, and apparently both Chanda and Venus are known for playing like night and day. Hopefully they'll both play well.

I think the winner of this match will gain a lot of confidence going into the next round which most of us expect will be Davenport.

Of course, I'm rooting for Venus, and also for all the Compton girls to move into the next round.

You'd think Venus would win, but then again you think she'd beat Mary Pierce....

I expect Venus to win.....Chanda couldn´t hold serve at all yesterday against Sera-Zanetti and even had to face sp´s....I don´t think she can afford that against Venus. It should be good, but Venus should win.

It's too bad Chanda isn't near her best right now because this would be a great chance for her to beat Venus...I dunno, it depends who makes more errors

Well I'm both delighted and sad that Venus and Chanda are playing each other but I'm sitting squarely on the fence for who I want to win this match. Let's just say that whoever wins this match, needs to win the whole title :bounce: I must say though that Venus definitely has the edge going into this match although Chanda has been in ominous form so far this tournament. Even though her serve was pretty much awful against Antonella in the last round, she still won in straight sets and Chanda was very impressive against Maria in the 1st round. Chanda no doubt has the ability to beat Vee with the current form Venus is in but her serve will be key.still think though that this will be a straight sets victory for Venus.but I'll be happy whoever wins, just aslong as it is a good match :) :bounce:
