Gosh Venus in that deuce game you nearly made me wet myself. Much improved 2nd set though, and after all I dont think any player played the way they wanted to today.

GO VEE! :D :woohoo: :bounce:

PS Isn't her opponent just the cutest thing you ever did see?

Vee's Forehand and serve didn't let her down on the key points. She will need them against Chanda.

Good job Venus, Now just go & serve in the next round like u did in the 2nd set.

I thought Venus hit her forehand much more consistently tonight. It looked like she played it with a little more topspin on that wing and it payed off. Perhaps she's realized she can't drive it flat @ all times like her backhand.

I really liked Uberoi's game. She really looked like she enjoyed the moment as well.

Damn that fucking Venus Williams  The more I try to pull away from her the more she draws me in :haha: Seriously though, good match. I so like this Shikha Uberoi. What a fun kiddo :p Go Vee !!

Venus played the most aggresive I've seen in awhile. She was coming to the net on big points and going for her shots the whole time. This type of Venus can beat Lindsay, Chanda and Justine. Venus needs to realize that playing aggresively is the way to go. She didn't play defense to win 2 Wimbledons and 2 U.S. Opens! I think the errors were because of the fact that Venus hasn't been that aggresive in awhile and wasn't used to going for so much. Great attitude Vee and continue on against Chanda!!

Not bad stats for her.
Uberoi came to play and
Venus stepped it up when she needed to!

Love to hops she had for those great
high vollies on set point in the first set
to close it out!

I like that Venus is being pushed and forced
to produce under pressure. It'll only make her stronger.

Even Tracy Austin said Venus played well!

 Glad to have you back in the fold, darling.

Well done, Venus. She was hitting that sucky forehand much better in the second set. Shikhu is too cute for words. She's also got game. I hope she does well on the tour and gets her ranking up so that we can see more of her.
Now on to Chanda. I'll keep peeking from between my fingers and pray that Venus brings the heat.:bounce:

Good job by Venus really found her range in the second set after a tight first set and Uberoi seems like a doll I hope she does well on tour strong game and a positive attitude I wonder what her SAT scores were she was very sly with her answer it must have been huge I really like that she is smart but didn't feel the need to show off.

Hey looking at the match stats Venus was only broken once and only faced one break point!! That's excellent even against Uberoi.

I believe the main reason Venus is not playing aggressively is that she is afraid of reinjuring her wrist again. As it happened when she played Lindsay... I just think that's what she's afraid of mentally and physically.

I liked this girl, but I thought she was younger

I also liked a lot her attitude, always positive, smiling, really enjoying the moment of facing one of her idols in the Arthur Ashe. Even after the loss, she kept the big smile on her face :D :p

About her game, I think she has a good serve. But needs to work harder to become a Top 100 player, and I wouldnt be surprised if she does it ;) :)

WD Venus! :)

With Uberoi serving to start the second, Williams broke her at love, smacking consecutive backhanded winners to start the game and screaming "There you go!" after each one. The set became a 28-minute, business-as-usual court cleaning for Williams, the No. 11 seed in the tournament and No. 12 player in the world.

Uberoi showed some game, she's a possible top 100 threat someday. Venus' form is still awful. I know, I know, Venus is only struggling because of injuries, yadda yadda. Venus needs some serious work on that forehand, and her serve while she's at it, before she injures herself further. Venus' only hope to advance far in the US Open is if Lindsay starts having the unfounded belief that she can't beat Venus.

Good win Venus, now raise your level a bit and get revenge for '02 4th Round that you barely survived. Do your thang Queen V! :hearts:

Yippee... they did great tonight. Shikha's had an incredible run.

I've read Shikha and Venus became friends a few years ago, and the Uberois actually had her over for dinner one night.
