"It must be a comedy if a British player is winning at Wimbledon"
quoted from Serena at Wimbledon this year. :D
I dont think I'll be watching it though, are you going to be watching it?

If only they'd chosen George and I to star in it. It would've been a sure fire Oscar epic.

I love Kirsten Dunst and I love tennis so I'd probably see it.

Yes. Hoping to arrange a reunion of the group of people I go to watch tennis with to go and see it in Wimbledon; it should be good for a laugh! ;)

I saw a screening of this in NYC last weekend. A friend of mine got me in :p

It was a cute, fun, romantic comedy with tennis thrown in. I approved. If you don't hate Romantic comedies, I say you should go out and see it.

It seems a little too chick-flicky and I hate Kirsten...but I'll prolly see it just to laugh at the amount of skill the "pros" have.

If the lead dame doesn't do a couple of numbers or end up in the gas chamber, I don't watch.

It sounds a bit cheesy so probably not.

There were a few things in the movie that would like, absolutely never happen (ie: playing a mens semifinal on an outer court at the same time as the womens semi on center, the grass still being all green and beautiful for the finals)... but overall, they didn't do anything too ridiculous with the tennis bit. Well, aside from a Brit nobody doing well at Wimbledon, of course ;)

It's really not as bad as I thought it would be!

My advice: Skip it and rent "With a Song in My Heart," "Tulsa," or "Backstreet" instead.

There are some people who dont even know French Open exists.
I mean Melbourne is like the perfect place for a movie, better than Paris IMO:).
But Wimbledon is like the biggest tournament there is, lucky Maria lol:).
Otherwise, they can be even more tacky and make "US Open-the movie" instead:rolleyes:

It really isn't that bad. It's just funny ;)

They name drop a lot, which is one of the funnier parts. "I saw you play Tommy Haas in San Jose last year..."... "Hammel has come through quite a draw, beating Federer and Hewitt just to get through to the finals"... blah.

The cameos by commentators like Johnny Mac and Mary Carillo are also funny ;)

Why is this movie named Wimbledon in the first place? The first thing that caught my attention is not the pristine whites, but KD's father trying to prevent her from getting laid in the lead-up to (Wimbledon?). Really?

Why didn't they just name this movie something else and include the tennis player angle as an aside? I thought this was about real tennis, not dreamers, unless this is patterned after a real tennis player. Who? Anna?

"If you hit this one, I'll sleep with you." Or something like that. Did they also include this famous line "Do you want to be broken first, yada yada yada..........."

I'm so not interested in seeing this movie.

Absolutely not at all. Kristen Dunst is blonde, but that is where the similarities between her character and Anna end :)

No. And the first line was... well, you have to see it in context.

I'm so not interested in seeing this movie.

Then don't :p

The tournament - and this veteran's last go - actually IS the focal point of the movie. The romantic plot and everything else just go along with it.

I think that Masha might watch this movie cos I heard she gave an interview that she'd love to be at the premiere. ;)

Chris Moyles (From Radio One) highly recommend it....

He mentioned the movie every other day! As much a tennis fan as I am...I think I will pass...
