It's on tv here. Oh no...Granville has the match strategy going against
Maria. She's cut all the angle and running forehands away from Maria,
and is just hitting in the middle of the court. Maria is handcuffed!!!!!!!

I hate Laura Granville. She is playing in the zone. If she loses, it would be a miracle for Maria, because Sharapova is playing like crap. 2/9 break points? wtf?

mboyle

I feel like taking a gun to my head. All Maria knows how to do is lose.

And 6 of those 7 missed BPs were lost from 2 games where she was 0-40 up. I think. :o

3-2 Granville. She's doing solid ground strokes, and Maria is playing
weak ones. Maria's face is getting redder, and redder. I do believe if
she doesn't hold her serve, she'll cry.

afraid of losing. Keeps on looking at her father every chance she gets!

One Slam Wonder.....

That's all she's been so far, is a one Slam wonder and now she's cracking like potato chips under a giants foot with all this expectation.

And Hingis said Sharapova was the next big thing, the next big Kournikova maybe (and hell she's not even as pretty as Anna)!

Okay, I really love Anna Kournikova but to call Maria a 1 slam wonder when shes ONLY 17 is ridiculous, and to compare her to Kournikova career wise is also ridiculous. Sharapova has won Wimbledon and other titles, Kournikova has not. While Kournikova has scored more big wins, Sharapova is overall a much bigger factor than Anna ever was.

Sharapova never had to face anyone that great, no Grafs in her time. Hell when she won Wimbledon she had an out of shape Venus and Serena in there, and the two best players right now weren't even playing (Kim and Justine). Maria's going to crack under this pressure, if you Kournikova fans thought fame went to her head, wait until you get a load of Maria. I just wonder, from the looks of it, I think she's spend more time on interviews and tanning since winning than she has on playing tennis and getting ready for the US Hardcourt season.

awwwww, lil 15 year old mboyle almost saw his jackoff tennis player lose in the first round. Then who would you have lusted after? It's hilarious to see lil kids his age like the up and comer blonde Russians, it's like just a give away that the only reason they cheer for them is Anna is gone and this is the next great piece of ass the WTA is going to shove down our throats.

As someone said, Masha is going through a li'l psychological adjustment period right now. This can be pretty tough (cf. Dani after Indian Wells, 2002), but I expect it'll all work out fine for her in the end. Allez Masha!

myboyle you need to stop it with bashing your favorite player. It's pathetic.

Sharapova is feeling the pressure. Before she had nothing to lose, now she has something to lose and that's why I feel that will prevent her from winning this title.

I never thought she was going to lose to Laura, but she was close to it. I'm suprised Tracy did not say anything negative about her horrible play. You know if it were Vee or Rena she would be all over it.

sure maria didn't have one of her better games, but at least she pulled through when it was required!
Go Maria!
