I think in New Haven, it was more of a "convenient" injury. It was there, but it wouldn't be impossible for her to play through it. I doubt it will be giving her many problems...

ahhh i get ya! With Lindsay in such good shape i didnt want this to hinder her chances........i feel much better now!

The draw is tough but i think if she is fully fit, and if she really wants it....then i cant see it being a problem for her to lift the title!

I think it was a convenient injury too. on Sky sports tonight they said she was so upset that she pulled out of the Pilot Pen but it was something she decided for her health and fitness she had to do. I don't blame her either. She looked great today, better than Justine and as good as Serena at least! Anyone want to comment on that, please??

First set was okay. Alot of winners but too many errors. Second set was golden. Huge, huge winners, great serving, and only two unforced errors. She played much better today than Justine did....

no sign of injury, thank god.........

She played great, especially in that second set.

I agree the 1st set was "ok", but the second set was glorious! Her serve is definately at its best, helping her out big time, and making sure her opposition on the back foot from the start! her ground strokes were deep and heavy.......footwork was good......and her volley's were solid..............man need i say anymore!

AWESOME start linds! Bring on Thursday!

Just watcehed Lindsay's 2nd game.......and you know guys I wasn't over impresed. She is gonna hve to serve alot better than she did if shes gonna progress through! Lindsay needs her big serves in there so that she can get the opposition on the back foot and then dominate the point and i.e by using her huge groundies. By doing this she can keep her points short and sweet.....like a 1....2! But with out that serve working at its maximum linds will struggle to do this. Her 1st set was something like 59% not dismal, but if shes gonna play with the big girls gonna need that higher! On a positive note in the second set she did increase it to something like 85%, which is where it really needs to stay.

To be fair was it wasn't a horrific game....but she really needs to be doing better.....that dude was only number 57 in the world....and she put up a good fight.

Also another thing which was a little concerning is that there were a few signs of Lindsay's negative behavior on the court....a bit of stomping about....sunken head....mumbling to herself.....obviously she was happy with herself. Through out all the hardcourt season this summer there was non of that, she was tough, positive, doninate and had no fear. I hope that she can stay positive and mentally tough through this championship, just like she was in the 4 hardcourt tournaments that she won......because if Lindsay is going to win the US Open then i think that a positive mental attitude may be the key factor.

Well done LINDS.................KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

GO LINDS...........GO LINDS...........GO LINDS..............GO LINDS...........
