All those people whining "isn't she or she playing"...
Come on, it's a Tier III, you can't expect EVERYBODY to be there.
Compared to other Tier III's, this is a nice field!

Maria Sanchez Lorenzo is here, so I don't whine or complain.
Field is strong enough for me.

Will Kimmy Piggy Clijsters get SS here?
Piggy:o, Serena and Jennifer are even more muscular, and you call her piggy:rolleyes:.
Anyways, she has not been out long enough to reseive SR, let alone SS.

third WC is to Nuria llagostera Vives, because she won in Vittel
Incorrect, that's play-in, who get entries base on her tournament title. 3rd WC is reserved for last minute GE/SE player entries, such as Justine HH:).

Aug 27th, 2004, 10:27 AM
I'm probably going for the semifinals, because in the week I've got school. A few days ago I drove past the new hall and it was almost finished. It already looked pretty nice though. And it's only 25 km from my home :D

Try to get the ticket for the final though, I'm pretty sure Kim and thousands of Belgian fans will be there.
It's happening on Sunday, hopefully you dont have school on Sunday:).

Someone have an idea of who will be the belgian pre-qualifiyng players ?

^bibi^
Sep 2nd, 2004, 09:22 AM
surely tha same on as in Antwerp...

tennisbelge
Sep 2nd, 2004, 03:00 PM
Well, if the system is the same that the one in Antwerp, it should be based on the national ranking so with Flipper and Els getting a wild-card, the belgian pre-quaifying players should be :
1.Eveline Vanhyfte
2. Leslie Butkiewicz
3. Caroline Maes
4. Debbrich Feys
5. Stefanie De Laet
6. Caroline Bailly
7. Jesse Devries
8. Jennifer De Bodt

But :
1. I heard Elke Clijsters could make a last appearance:mad: . As she is still ranked between Debbrich and Stefanie, she would be in at 5th place.
2. Jennifer De Bodt hasn't played for months. Where is she ? Will she play ?
3. If Elke and Jennifer don't play, the next entry will be first belgian in the junior ranking (that's Bob Verbeek's system) and so it would be.... Shana Claes:bounce:

Babsi pulls out of Hasselt
22nd September 2004
Babsi has pulled out of Hasselt with an achilles tendon problem. Babsi's next scheduled tournaments are Filderstadt, Zurich, Linz and Fed Cup.

I hope she recovers well :) It would be a shame if her career had to end like this...

Yes, because it is special to Justine, Kim, and Amelie.
According to the GE rules, she can downplay Tier III events this week with no high tier in sight. Unlike American players (Jennifer etc.), she does not mind playing low tier events.

But she never really plays them  Again, with the exception of Rosmalen (where Jennifer Capriati once played too, btw)

Yes, she did, before winning Australian Open.
Justine after winning Roland Garros still plays low tier events on the other hand.
I do think the organizer will try to ask her to come out and play.
After, she was born in Belgium, and unlike America, there are not that many events in Belgium for her to play.
