Personally, I am a bit confused  on some of the choices for American wildcards -- but what do you think? I guess it is a given that
Ashley Harkleroad gets one, ( )and she does deserve it, a final at Auckland to start the year, and some steadier post-injury results have put her back inside the top 100. Shame the cut off is so early, it's a waste of a wildcard.
Kelly McCain also deserves one; a suprising rise indeed.
Not so sure Angela Haynes is merit for a WC this year for she really hasn't done much worth noting IMO in 2004 -- zero for three with her maindraw WC's this year, but hopefully that will change.
I suppose Jamea Jackson also deserves one, and despite a lesser ranking than Haynes, she has done well in the maindraw, taking out Casanova at Key Biscayne, and Santangelo in Birmingham to rise from 444 at the end of the year to a current ranking of 193.
Alexandra Stevenson - All I can say is I believe she was ranked inside the top 30 in August of 2003.
Jessica Kirkland - Good for her to repeat as National Champ.
Amber Liu
Bethanie Mattek has done well for herself this summer.
I guess I would have rather seen Lilia Osterloh receive a wildcard, as well as maybe Jenny Hopkins, or Abby Spears over Haynes and Stevenson. Any thoughts?
