Well the second seed in Mason Vera had a very shaky last round against Serra Zanetti :tape: and she will be put to the test by China's Shuai Peng :hearts: in the quarterfinals. What are your thoughts on this match?
Both have the same sort of backcourt groundie game .... Vera obviously has more experience but if she played like the way she did yesterday she can start packing her bags for New York.
I think Vera knows she has to play better. The last WC was given out already in New Haven.

Well, I don't know who will win tonight but, on Tuesday night, I saw Shuai Peng (whom I had never seen play before) beat [I can't remember her name:sad: ] and she played a wonderful match. I was very impressed with the way she struck the ball and the way she hit from corner to corner, keeping her opponent on the run, constantly. She reminded me of Andre Agassi:kiss: :hearts: and the way he hits from the baseline and wears down his opponents.
On the other hand, her volleys were stinky.:o She either hit them into the net or over the baseline or popped it in the air. So, she needs to work on that but I think her groundstrokes and her serve are very good. I was especially impressed because she had to qualify for this Tier III tournament.
When they interviewed her on court, she said her coach had told her to "just hit the ball hard" and she did. Vera had better watch out.
