They're adding a tournament after New Haven. Hmm...that could either be good or bad. Good in that it may attract the stars that don't want to play the week prior to the Open. Bad in that it really does break the tradition it has of being the lead up tourny to the Open.

Boston held WTA Championships? Hmm, I hope the attendance is great as MSG as there no nearest a WTA tournament around the city so, I think it will going be good.

However, I would like to see WTA Championships held different city as host in each year like ATP does.

Yeah, what's the source? It looks believable, but is it real? Why did the WTA add an extra week before the US Open if they are trying to shorten the schedule? If Berlin was sold to Doha, how come Berlin is still there and Doha is not upgraded? Why are Bol and Madrid mysteriously back on the schedule when they originally folded due to financial hardship? There are a lot of questions. The schedule seems logical in most places but inconsistent from reports we've read.

Tier 3 = 250,000 - 300,000

Why would anyone lose their time posting a fake schedule?!

It does look fake... But it looks like it's real at the same time. So I don't know what to think.

According to this, Montreal and Toronto are the same week (men and women), it's absolutely impossible that would happen.

And if the WTA Champs would have been moved in Boston, we would have heard about it.

This schedule that i posted yesterday was given to me by from an e-mail by the WTA European Headquarters. It is genuin. As for Boston the ETA said that it has been moved and is likely to go to Boston but is not official. I just presumed that was the case if that is what her e-mail said. I have tried to contact the WTA in the states but have not had any reply. I have corrected the dates for the Canadian Open. Appologies for this mix up. I was just excited to be the first to get it and i wanted to post it !!!

Interesting comment:). Someone made a list of cities that should host WTA tournaments awhile ago, if you can dig it up. Athens is one of them:). But I'm not sure tennis is too popular there though since their tix sales even during Olympics bombed so badly.

Why not move the year end championship to Shanghai given ATP and WTA have already been that close? Plus, there is a state of the art venue under construction to hold 2005 ATP Masters Cup. If you see this stadium yoiu are going to love it.

You cant hold it anywhere other than America.
They tried moving it to Europe, but Munich was a bomb, and they should have never moved it there after Steffi retired, and after Martina retired, and Kim probably not gonna make it to the Championship to defend, moving it to Europe will not be as popular.
If you move it anywhere outside America, you can be sure that both Williams sisters wont be coming, and Lindsay and Jennifer are unwilling to travel abroad. You'll just get Maria Sharapova and a bunch of Russian girls. Moving it to China could guarantee a full seat stadium, but they can forget about broadcasting it on tv.

by November 2005, none of those four veteran American players you mentioned, except maybe Serena, are likely to be top draws at the WTA Champs anyway. In fact, i'd bet against aging Davenport/Capriati, and struggling Venus even qualifying for that 8 player field next year. So it's not really an argument for keeping the tournie in the U.S.

I think this schedule looks real. Downgraded Berlin and Tokyo makes too much sense to be fake. But where is Mason, is that a new tournie or is it the same one they are calling Cincinnati this year?

More bad news for New Haven, this year they got hit by the Olympics and now the WTA is bumping them forward an extra week before the USO. They can kiss goodbye to those superstar draws they used to always get.

This schedule has to be fake. I checked the dates of some of the ATP tournaments and it doesn't match up. For instance, according to this schedule:

-Toronto (WTA) and Montreal (ATP) will be held in the same week
-Fed Cup and Davis Cup will be held in the same week, two weeks after Wimbledon
-The men's and women's tournaments in Dubai will be held in the same week
-The men's and women's events in Acapulco, Sopot and Moscow will be held in different weeks

Here is the official ATP schedule which confirms all of this:

If they had emailed him the schedule, he wouldn't have needed to type up the entire schedule. He just would have copied and pasted the schedule that was emailed to him. Also, wouldn't he have posted the dates if the schedule was real?

He originally had Moscow a week later, but after I mentioned that the men's event was scheduled for a different week, he reversed Moscow and Filderstadt. He also changed the dates for Acapulco, Bogota, Sopot and the July Fed Cup tie. He forgot to change the dates for Cincinatti though.
