Amy Frazier beat Mashona Washington today to get to the Cincy quarters, but most importantly, she is just three matches from tying her best season performance. (she went 33-17 in 1992 and is now 30-14 in 2004)

Not sure if Amy is going to get to the final, but just wanted to recognize the fact that at almost 32, it's great to see this veteran is still winning matches and going far in draws.

Good luck to you Amy the rest of the way!!!

Way to go Amy!! Hope to see her in the final! I havent really looked at it but if Amy and Lindsay are on the opposite sides of the draw then I am hoping for an Amy-Lindsay final:)

She has the game I think to get by Vera Zvonareva and would really like to see her get more wins over top-ten players. But Vere will be tough I think regardless, that is of course both win their next matches.

Any athlete who is down to earth enough to want to be a math teacher after retirement is one of my faves.

Amy is doing phenomenal, at this time last year it looked like she might never win another WTA match before she retired. If she's 30-14 overall, her hardcourt record must be around 26-9 which is Top 15 stuff.

Amy wants to be a math teacher? I don't think she has a college degree yet, she turned pro very young...

Yeah..she said at Wimbledon that she would be going to college following her tennis career in her home state of Mich. :D
Ps..thanks for all of the support guys! It does my heart good to see such support after thinking i was one of the few fans she had over the past 17 years..well..untill the net came along..now there coming out of the woodwork...hehe :D :wavey:

Amy :worship: It's nice to see her doing well. That hardcourt record is  - I had no idea it was that good. I sincerely hope she keeps up the good work and makes it into the year-end top 20. The win today over an in-form Mashona is a good one! :D

Oh, and I love her future aspirations of becoming a teacher - she comes across as a person who'd make an excellent teacher. :yeah:

Excellent - esp as this time last year we were thinking she'd be retiring along with Coetzer at the end of 2003.

I remember someone on the board said that he/she saw Amy at the 2002 US Open and Amy said that it *might* be her last US Open because "the results aren't coming"....Well, I guess Amy is proud of her season this year :hearts:
